this is the fastest way to do a rim swap. simply tape two rims together and line up the spoke holes to both rims. doing it this way, you dont mess up the spoke crossing and dont actually have to de-lace anything. do one spoke at a time and just transfer it over to the new rim. notice how the new rim (the one most right in the image) only has 2 spokes in it and the dented/old/soon to be replaced rim (the one most left in the image) has the remaining spokes
It should be noted that this method is only really "safe" with proprietary wheels like the I9 and Mavic systems, since steel spokes will stretch out and fatigue and should not be re-used. Of course if we're just talking about one race then it should be fine, but for everyday riding this method is not kosher.

You completely missed my point. I'm saying that if you have a wheel that you have been riding for months and months and you want to do a rim swap, you can't just use the same spokes and nipples on the new rim. You should always replace the spokes and nipples when rebuilding a wheel.
