Szymon Godziek got some nice moves in his pocket! Thanks to www.wolisphoto.com we can now enjoy those crispy beauties. Even by placing 6th in his quali runs (that was called finals after the weather issues) he got time to throw some big tricks! Signature "Superman is our favourite! Don't get me wrong, I think contests and resorts like this are rad, but imagine how amazing this picture would be without the redbull tent, buildings, banners, or lift cables. Commercialism and exposure is a bittersweet thing.

You gotta have a way to get to the top, a place to stay, and someone to support the comps so I guess there wouldn't be a picture without them

Without corporate sponsors and money in the sport, riders like Szymon wouldn't be able to make a decent living. I think Red Bull as a drink is disgusting, but their marketing direction is pretty admirable. They could just throw their money at stupid ads like McDonald's and Starbucks.

That jump also would probably not exist without them. Look at how much attention has been brought to crankworx in the past 10 years, without those sponsorship dollars and banners they would not be having live broadcasts, cable cams, or a collection of the best athletes from around the world competing in their respective styles of biking. While a photo may not appear as pure mountain biking with all the added commercialization, it is what has largely expanded the sport to what it has become today!
Pinkbike wouldnt have got this far if it didnt have the adds all over it its just what you need to do to gain a wider audience. I personally think the village at Whistler looks awesome with the logos all over it during Crankworx but im a big fan of stickers and free shit so I guess im a tad biased here.

The noble peaks stretching towards the sky. The icy remains of snow hiding in the nooks and valleys, slowly melts away into luscious green grass and thick woods, making up the entirety of the lower hill. In the Foreground, a Redbull tent, offering shade and tasty refreshments to spectators. Oh yes the spectators, four of them can be seen. Judging, admiring, trying to comprehend what they are witnessing. With eyes wide open, staring off into the distance, a man, a bike, and a beautifully crafted pile of dirt.
