I have a pair and really don't like them. Maybe I need to re work the calipers and replace the pads again. They stop well but the calipers don't retract fully and leaves the disc sqweeling longer than it should. They became so annoying I swaped them out for a pair of hopes. Came stock on my gt sanction. I talked with the formula mechanic at sea otter about them and he gave me a hundred excuses but no answers as to fix the caliper retraction issue. He told me I need to re bleed and pad then go ride a mile or so with the brakes engaged at 50%? Really? I will not be doing that anytime soon.
That is what you are supposed to do with all new brake pads. You get a lot more power from them and you don't glaze the pads. The formula guys know what they are talking about, they work on the brakes every day. I call user error, you probably messed them up and just blame them now. If you do what they said to do to them im sure you would find they are great brakes.
Little joker I appreciate the response but in my own defense I had the formula mechanic at sea otter work on them as well they have had two hose kits, two pad swaps, and been on two different bikes and wheel setups done at multiple shops. So. Hmmmmmm......... Yeah could be user error.
Sean like I said, it is a known problem and it has been addressed and fixed in the new brakes. I'm sorry that your brakes didn't work out how you wanted them to, but for myself and most of my friends Formula brakes work flawlessly.
