Best front tyre that you'll ever have for a downhill bike. It tracks really well... I mean after all these years of hundreds of tyres out there and this is used everywhere still!!!! You should always change your tyres often... But this one will last for quite a while if you want it to.

I bought this tyre last year after reading all the positive reveiws everywhere i went. Usually when this happens you just get a load of disappointment with a porduct that everyone thinks is good just because of what it is. However the this tyre i can safley say i am not disappointed. I have put it though every weather condition that exsists, form ice to snow, gloopy mud, sand and dusty clay. The tyre has performed suprimely thoughout. The grip that it gives is perfect, in any conditions. Not once have i had it side out or wash out, even in the face of heavy mud or sand.

This product is totally worth the money and it will last for a very long time to come.

I'm running these in 2.7's, which seems a little outlandish for some people, but I couldn't be more stoked. These tires grip and rip like no other. Super grippy for the downhill that always has changing conditions. They are soft so they will wear out if you are doing any sort of touring, but if you are just ripping single track that is loose or hard, or muddy, the Minions are the way to go. Best all around tire for sure.

Amazing grips and control this tyre gives you. Probably one of the most used downhill or freeride tyre. Maxxis is also has made other great tyres for other styles of riding

If your looking for a good grippy and controlled downhill tyre buy the Maxxis Minion!

Fitted on the front of my specialized hardrock, mainly riding uk trailcentre routes. the tyre is awesome up front, provides loads of grip under braking, corner grip inspires confidence. i use a 60a on the front and it has no issues with rocks/roots/loose ground and hardpack. I doubt i will ever use anything else for the foreseeable future.

came on my bike havnt had a problem with them and feel realy grippy where it needs to be. not to much grip that it diggs into the ground. They are not that good at coping with the Xc side of things. more a downhill freeride tire. goes rad with the minion dhr. these are the tires i roll and are definatly up for the gnarly rocks and roots. but they dont dig into the sections that have jumps and berms. I recomend this tire for DH or freeride and maby a bit of XC.

Cannot go wrong, great tire! I continue to purchase these for DH/Free-riding. I've yet to find a tire that will corner in all elements as well as these do. I would not however run a minion for a rear tire. I found with jumping big it really hammers the outside tread. Stick with a minion in the front and a highroller for the rear I promise you will not be disappointed!

Great tire especially the sticky ones, if you ride a lot more street here and there they have a 60a like a holy rollers which are a lot more hard so they don't wear down as fast. I ride these and the holy rollers. I'll never ride anything else but Maxxis on my bikes.

best. tire. ever. they grip like you wounldn't believe, are super predictable, and roll quite well for a DH tire. only downside i can think of is they don't work too well in mud, but then again, that's what swamp things are for.....

Great winter tyre / all-round DH tyre, loads of grip and haven't slipped once - however be prepared to get some tree-trunk like calves, as the grip is way too much to cycle on road to the trails! It's just as good as a rear tyre as well.

 Great front tyre
haven't tried sticking one of these on the back yet, mine will be staying firmly on the front.
Loads of grip in the dry and it is very predictible in the wet, i run a 2.7 on my big hit and 2.3 on my hardtail and i can fault them, the kevlar bead is a bit loose on my hardtail and sometimes buldges, but it can be fixed quickly if there is a pump to hand
like this tyre don't think i would use anything else on the front of any of my bikes

These tyres, although some consider to be over-used by the masses, not necessarily knowing or caring what tyres are on their bike...are very, very good all round dh tyres. They over great grip, in the most extreme weather conditions.. and give the rider a great amount of confidence in the speeds possible to go, whilst maintaining grip. They are not so gripy that they are inefficient in allowing the rider to carry speed..and not so smooth that washing out is inevitable..they are just perfect. I use these most if not all year round, give or take atleast once a week in the winter and upto four times in the summer and they are great and have lasted a good 9 months so far, with not alot of tread wear, through some awfulo conditions and the generally crap engish weather of autumn/ winter. Rant over, basically i would recommend these good value, effective tyres.

dispite buying this tire and putting it on the back with the ST 40a rezzay compund it performed well but didnt last long with the breaking and the power from the pedals but it was a good tire while it lasted but get the harder compounds if you want to put this tire on the rear(dispite the fact its a front it still works well!!)

 Super grippy tires.
The faster you go the better they are.
I run a hard roller on the back (90 i think) and a 60a st (super tacky)on the front both 2.5's on my free ride bike and there real quick. (I reckon they work best on soft-hard mud and loose pack/sand).

4.5 stars Big Grin

Sweet Tire, corners great and hooks up really well. Also works good as a back tire, but then your drifts might not be as smooth because it slides the hooks up a bit then slides a bit more, then hooks up again... A super good buy though, And if you live in Canada go to MEC to get your tires, they're really cheep there and they usually have a pretty descent selection of DH tires. (Including this one.)

This is an amazing front tire! It grips any time you need it to and has way less rolling resistance than most other tires. Also, it last a real long time if your on a tight budget. Get it. Youll never go back to any other tire!

I used it with a tube and tubeless, and they both work great, I even used it on rear wheel and it also works great, but, to get maximum performance you should use it on your front wheel, tubeless, with low pressure. ... Considering the price, durability, puncture/snake bite protection, multi-terrain performance, I give this tire five stars.
