Giant 2012 XTC Composite 29er 1
Perfect intro into 29er/carbon hardtails. Only con's I can think of are the flat bar is a bit to get used to and I'd personally choose a shorter stem. The bike does come with elixir 1 brakes, so don't listen to this other guy. The downtube is huge on this thing and the bike as a whole feels stiff as a brick. Fox Float is a better fork than the fork found on other bikes at this price. Frame + fork alone is $2400, so $2500 full build is a hell of a deal.

Pros, 15 mil through axle, STIFF frame, shorter wheel base fo a 29er, wheels are bomb proof, press fit bottom bracket, great chain lines, frame is very durable as it has taken many rock hits on the downtube without a scratch
