I had the 2007 model of this fork. I went through three frames, ALL went through heavy dirt jumping use, drops, etc... sooo much more than the forks were intended to be used for. I am pretty sure i blew the springs in them from all the abuse i gave them. I finally cracked the crown in two little tiny places on the under side. but hey, it did what it had to do plus more.

I have the 2009 model and it is a good fork if you just need something cheap to absorb shock.
pros- cheap, plush suspension, preload adjustment, 9mm qr axle will fit most xc wheels, super easy to take apart and clean
cons- seals wear out fastspring fork... if you're too heavy or too light you'll have to buy a different spring

Amazingly simple yet so resistant to abuse. Not much of a rocket science in design so not much to go wrong. Flexy but light. Bombproof but simple. Great starter in suspension world.
