These forks are absolutely amazing! the small bump absorbtion is awesome and they can handle huge step downs no problem, you can adjust travel, rebound, floodgate and lock them out for any riding style. Best £285 I've ever spent! Get some now!

A very good fork that u can fit and forget about it, Never gave me any issues. I use it to do everything from cross country to downhill and the Pike can take it all whiteout complaining. It's super smooth, absorbs the small bumps and handles well landings from jumps making a wise use from the travel. The regulations are more than enough to me and the U-turn is very useful to lower the front in xc rides. I strongly recommend it to any one that need a do it all fork.

I run this on my DMR, for mostly street and park. Although the stock spring is incredibly soft (I weigh around 78kg and I've got about 50% sag at 140mm travel so like 80% sag when I wind it down) with the motion control you can basically lock it out. A little on the heavy side but I know it can take any knocks. I've lowered mine to 80mm just to suit my purposes. Maxle is brilliant, nothing can beat it. Also I may be building up a trail bike and if so I would switch this between bike because of it's amazing versatility.

This fork has never stopped to amaze me, it is amazing at rough and slow sections on dh and fr. the best thing i did for mine was fit the extra firm spring because now i eliminate alot of sag but still get the responsiveness i need. for dj and street i lower the forks right down and lock them out for a very rigid feel, i have done this for way over a year now and still no problems despite many questions ive been asked from people as to whether it will damage the fork or not.
overall i would recommend this fork to anyone for its outstanding and very versatile performance and not at a bad price

Good fork I have the Pike that was Made for specialized but the same fork really. excellent fork for agresive AM even with only 140 MM of travel due to the fact that it is a stiff fork designed for slope style. U-Turn is amazing. Maxle is stiff and easy to remove.

Pros: Confidence inspiring stiffness and plushness. Good adjustments. Maxle is sweet. Cons: Could do with more rebound adjustment but not a huge issue, they are plenty springy just personal preference.

I love this fork! I'm running it on 2 different bikes right now. You have to get the extra firm spring for it right away though. I blew out the damper super fast on my first one because the spring was too soft...

very plush fork and the lockout work amazingly well but my uturn did break in a month so its a case of set it and leave it rather than adjust it every 5 minutes

Only con is that lockout does not always work. Perfect for dj with stiffer springs and thicker oil.

Love this fork. Installed firm coil. Easy to service. Adjustable travel (UTURN) is awesome. Tough, but light enough for street/trials.

RockShox Pike 454 U-Turn (MSRP $604) — All Mountain fork.

Specifications Compare to other Forks

Release Date 2009
Price $604

Travel 95-140mm mm

Steer Tube 1.125
Damping Motion Control
Damping - The process of absorbing the energy of impacts transmitted through the forks or rear shock during the compression stroke, and absorbing the energy of the spring during the rebound stroke.
DropOut Options Maxle
Compression Low speed compression to 'Lock' with external Floodgate
Compression - This is the damping circuit that absorbs the compression energy force on the damper. Compression damping is used to adjust how quickly a fork or rear shock compresses when hitting a bump, and is adjustable on some products. When compression damping is too soft, this condition allows most of the available travel to be used without attaining control of the wheel. When it's adjusted too firmly, the wheel will jump or "dance" about when hitting small bumps, again failing to gain control of the wheel.
