Just got my 2012 Heckler frame built up. Frame is stunning in satin clear... Beefy chainstays I have locked together with a DT Swiss 10mm RWS. Fox Float CTD is a good workhorse. Put a Sektor RL Solo Air up front (20mm). Very impressed with the craftsmanship of the frame (like all SC frames). Looking forward to many miles and smiles from this rig!

This bike took 24 seconds off of a super d run for me, all the bike had nothing to do with my riding as I rode the exact same as I would have on my other bike. The suspension in the front is seemingly endless and the rear is perfection. Even if you manage to bottom it out it never feels like it. It handles like a lotus would, and it's simple, rugged design means less maintenance.

I have owned a Heckler since 2008. This is the only bike you will ever need. I set it up with a FOX Van 36 and DHX 5.0 coil over rear shock. I like more technical descents and drops. I have SRAM XO grip shifts and derailleur.

This bike will do anything you want it to do. It climbs better than most. The only issue is out of the seat efforts while climbing may induce a little more bob than desired. However, this can be changed via body position while climbing out of the saddle.

This bike is a super capable descender. If you can stay on the bike then the bike will handle anything you go over.

The only thing holding this bike back is my riding ability.

So simple yet so good. I am on my 2nd Heckler and could not be happier. It climbs very well and descends with so much control. The price is not stupid expensive and the durability is superior.

One of the most balanced, fun bikes I've ever ridden. I've been to many shops and tested many, many bikes over the years, and the Heckler is one of those bikes that you sit IN instead of ON... I love it.

Love the extra travel on the latest model. I am on my 2nd one...Will buy a 3rd if they are still making them in a few years.

Great allround trailbike for many purposes (in Europe).
Handles great in descents, as well as with climbing up the hill.

Santa Cruz Bicycles Heckler X9 AM (MSRP $3399) — The name has been a centerpiece of our lineup for many years now, and the essence of the Heckler remains unchanged: a durable, do it all trailbike that offers more grin per dollar than just about anything else on the market. With frame geometry that is almost identical to our stellar Blur LT, 150mm rear travel delivered by a solid and ultra-dependable single pivot suspension, and a light yet beefy frame, the Heckler remains one of the all-time right bike for the right price bargains in mountain biking. Available in Frame/Shock only.
