After first winter riding in everykinda weather. I must say that these where the best tires ever... No fall on slipery ice on sidewalks or ice DH trails... Few missing studs, that's about all of the negative I have to say about these tires. They where little expencive but more cheaper then a broken bone...

These are the best tires I could have purchased. Must have when “Real” Canadian winter riding, snow, ice, -20 temps, and the wind. The studs in the tire are sharper than I expected, noise when driving on the road might upset some people at first, I don’t really hear it anymore. This is NOT a commuting tire, it’s for snow covered icy trails, it’s a very aggressive snow and ice tire. Studded tires need to be broken in to “seat” the studs in the rubber, they recommend 30 miles on pavement, I did about half that and have only lost a few studs out of the 361 in each tire.

Schwalbe 2011 Ice Spiker Pro HS 379 (MSRP $161.85) — Lighter, grippier, faster. The ‘turbo’ of spike tires. With 361 spikes it bites firmly into icy roads. The tungsten carbide core of each spike is clad in weigh-saving aluminum. The scale stops at 695 g, and that is why the MTB remains agile and sporty.
