I have the 10spd bar mount XT shifters and they have performed perfectly since new (they are about a year old now). Very solid shifting that enables you to go through lots of gears quickly when you need to. Easily accommodates the 36T big ring I have on the back. I had XT 9spd shifters on the bike I previously had and they performed flawlessly for the 9 years they were used.

take off the little indicator thingy cuz you won't be able to look at it anyway if you're shreddin it. These are nice because you can use your thumbs or your forefinger to shift, but slightly annoying because sometimes when you pull up really hard on a jump or whatever, they shift without your realizing it. Then you start pedaling again and you're nowhere near the gear you used to be in. Overall a reliable and durable shifter though.

Have the older model that doesn't have the double release, but it's a solid shifter that doesn't have any problems and a lot stronger than the deores which I've broken 1 or 2.

I think the best shimano shifter out there.
