This is a great bike for anyone getting into the trails and or loves a little hard tail action for a killer price point. I bought my 2010 model to see if I wanted to get back into riding(my old bike was stolen). When I bought this bike I quickly realized how much I missed getting out and riding. I have tricked it out a bit now w ith some oversized handle bars and grips for preference but kept the rest of the bike stock. I really enjoy taking it onto the mountain trails and a little burm action every once in a while. I have really had a lot of fun with this bike and am going to definitely keep it in the fleet as my go to hard tail. I may switch out a few components down the road like the wheels and pedals but for the price I bought it i have a lot of breathing room to play with it.

Pros
Pricepoint can't go wrong. I would even be as bold to say that nothing touches it under the $900 pricepoint and it's only $600

Cons
After riding it for a year I would say a few little components.
I immediately got oversized handlebars and new grips
I am looking to change the pedals and possibly the seat
Again all preference based cons for me

If you want a solid bike for your buck!!! This is an amazing bike for the price and leaves tons of room to trick it out the way you want

Last summer I bought this bike and have really used it well. In fact, I believe I over ride this bike but, it holds up to everything I have put it through. This bike is a wonderful introduction to trail riding, dirt jumping and street fun. I really just wanted to get a nice bike- cannot beat this price!

cons: I busted the seat off a jump by landing butt first.- Is this a con really?

The frame is amazing and the bb5 brakes works great. I had the chance to ride at Highland and Diablo with my stock P1 am. Took the rides very well. Put a higher caliber fork on this bike and let it fly.

great bike for beginners when it comes to downhill. the money you save on this can replace the crappy stock rims you get.

Specialized P.1 All Mountain Disc (MSRP $590) — ALL MOUNTAIN TOUGH, but competitive in weight to some of our competitors' XC bikes, the P. All Mountain is just as much fun on the trails as it is at the park. Fully butted alloy frames with double ORE down tubes make our AM version among the lightest in the P. series, but true to the family, this one will take more than a few hard knocks.

This fully butted A1 Premium Aluminum frame is built to be All Mountain tough at weights that rival our competitors' XC frames.

The 100mm-travel SR Suntour fork uses coil springs, external preload adjustment and oversized stanchions for extra strength.

The 3D-forged stem features a 10-degree rise for perfect bar positioning.

Avid BB5 mechanical disc brakes, with 160mm G2 Clean Sweep rotors, allow for easily controlled stops.

The medium-cage SRAM X4 rear derailleur gives snappy shifts with less chain slap.

8-speed SRAM X4 trigger shifters provide lightning-fast gear changes.

SR Suntour replaceable cranks feature an Octalink-splined bottom bracket interface for added strength and durability.

SBC HRD rims are double walled for strength.

Specialized Resolution Sport 26x2.1-inch tires have a larger volume for managing challenging terrain.

The Body Geometry All Mountain saddle helps protect your important parts with pressure-relieving technology.
