i have the 07 sx trail and if it is true that spesh have tryed to keep it as close to it as possible it will sure be an excellent bike. my onl problem is that with this price range your on a budget and a fox shock it need servicing. i think the type of person who can pay 100 every year for a service would be the type to by the nest model up

i bought a 2008 specialized sx trail 1 and it rides so amazingly! i was hitting some dirt jumps and it handles them so nicely, also i hit a 5 foot drop and it ate it up like nothin. I took this bike on a downhill trail and it can easily handle it! This is a really good all round bike, jumping is deffinetly super nice to use it for

My first fr/dh bike, it's perfect for everything...well except when I take it to pumptrack night. Replaced the wheelset, as the stock is a bit soft and took some beatings off the big hucks. Replaced the 160 fork with a 180 Fox van 36 r.

Got my 2010 SXT1 for the start of the 2011 riding season and I could not be happier. I have only changed the tires to Minion ST's but even the stock Spec tires were pretty good. The kit is what you'd expect for a bike of this price, its not high end, but everything works well even the Domain fork.

This is a perfect bike for places where I ride like Blue Mountain Ontario.

I have had the 2010 frame for 8 months and rode it at home and at parks (highland / diablo). This is a great frame...super low in the corners and jumps/drops very well. I do have to be careful not to pedal too much on rocky trails, b/c of the low BB.

This bike is awesome! I have the older enduro style frame with 167mm of travel. it works for anything! i can do huge freeride gaps, fly down some gnarly downhill trails and at the end of the day, i can go out and dirt jump SOME dirt jumps on it. the only con of the old one is the high top tube and the weight. tad bit on the heavy side but still not that bad. from riding my friends newer SX Trail, the new one deffinetly fixed these problems.

the best thing about this bike build is the mid balance this stops you from accidentally nose diving or the tail dropping off a jump, their isn't realy anything wrong with the bike but the shifter pods could be better, over all it is an excelent bike, if there was one thing i would change it would be the travel, i have an 08 and it is listed as a 175mm travel frame i dont get why they dont just stick 5mm extra under the warnnty but the frame can take 180mm forks with no problems

This bike is sweet. Before this I had an 05 kona stinky. It sucked and the specialized sx trail was a HUGE step up from the kona. It rides smooth, handles jumps like butter, and is easily whipped around. Buy it.

Specialized SX Trail I (MSRP $3300) — If the trail ride turns into a freeride, the new for '09 SX Trail with 170mm of FSR travel shows no mercy when it comes to triple overhead drops and backcountry stunts.

Claw knows it: The SX Trail M5 Premium Aluminum frame delivers. ORE top/down tube, forged head tube and full cartridge bearings. Integrated ISCG mount. 170mm travel. Not for the meek.

New, custom-tuned Avid Elixir hydraulic discs and SL levers with reach adjust, metallic pads and 200mm/185mm rotors for the control you need at high speeds.

Specialized Clutch SX tread offers a tough cap-ply construction and soft dual compound for confidence in the corners and the loose stuff.

Stiff Truvativ Stylo crankset surrounded by Gamut Shift chain guide. At least your chain is under control, heh?

Stout, maybe death-proof, the custom DT Swiss F550 rims span a wide 30mm for strength and improved tire contact.
