It is awesome... go buy it, because it seriously does everything Truvativ claims it does.
When you first ride it, you have to get over the initial "drag" feeling you experience in overdrive, but this subsides, and it becomes "normal" to the whole experience. My only regret is that I did not get this when it first hit the market.

I rode a bike with the Hammer-Schmidt and it was awesome. it has two speeds, and shifts smoother than any derailer style shifter. The internal shifting lets you shift while pedaling forward, backward, or not at all. No more grinding the gears for late shifts. The low profile is great when riding over high clearance obsticles. The price tag is a bit high for me, but if you have the cash, I would highly recommend this product

Took a Hammerschmidt AM for a test ride on a Titus El Guapo. The shifting was lighting quick under any load. Tried everything I could to get it stuck, but it shifted lightning quick every time. I'm now saving up to buy one.

I love it and will never build another bike without one. Instant shifting on highly tech trails is worth its weight in Gold. But speaking of weight it is a little heavy but I would never be without it.

I just love my Hammerschmidt. Works well for the type of riding I do with my Specialized Pitch. So glad I've bought it, worth every penny for me....

Does everything they say it does. Overdrive drag is a small price to pay for instant, 100% shifting!
