Put this on the front of your XC rig for all mountain handleing. This this rips up everything, sticks to hardpack and floats over sand bogs. You can't beat the decending on this thing, and at 750 grams, you'll barely notice it climbing. The low-pro knobs roll well, minimizing the weight penalty. Racers can put this up front for a measure of safety and FUN, then put on the wicked light tires for the events. Just don't think your 420 gram tire can be pushed like this one...

Refined by pro-racer Mark Weir, the WeirWolf LT (Low Tread) is something of a Frankentire experiment gone terribly right. The LT couples the large-volume of a downhill tire with the fast-rolling, low-profile tread of an XC race tire, making it nearly as versatile as Weir himself. It performs in any discipline from XC to Super D to light-duty DH races–the lightweight casing soaks up trail chatter and the densely packed side knobs hold firm in corners.

Bead Type - there are two main types. Kevlar/Folding Bead (lighter and ca be folded so riders can put them in their jersey pocket or hydration pack incase they rip their sidewall) and Wire/Steel Bead (heavier, cheaper, not as strong or portable, and more difficult to mount on a rim).
