Mammoth Mountain Bike Park to Allow E-bikes Complete Access
They’re only pedal assist up to 20mph. Then it’s a 40plus pound 130mm trail bike. Honestly, I don’t see the issue. Yes they will accelerate faster, but the DH bike will without a doubt walk it on the way down on a DH track having both bikes be under the same rider. I think just being able to say to somebody “hey they have pedal assist bikes if you want to give mountain biking a try” is a much better approach then having them watch a Rampage video then asking if they’re tryna shred a 8” travel DH rig. The pedal assist approach is much less intimidating, and as stated above, I really don’t see those pesky category 1’s getting in anybody’s way anytime soon for any other reason than the usual “Joey” reasons. In other words, inconvenience will not be due to the bike on this one.
