Dry January

I don't remember the last time the trails of West Oxfordshire were dry in January, in-fact I think they never have been! Our clay soil is rock hard through summer, but once it's waterlogged there's no going back. Even with last years heatwave it took until early June for the local dirt jumps to solidify. All change this year. In all 7 days of 2019 I've counted about 3 drops of rain. This, and a lack of rain in the last few months meant that when I went out expecting to shoot a mudslide, I found hero dirt. Perfect!

This is an entirely self shot edit, a slow process of camera and tripod setup, followed by a run up the hill, riding back down and repeat.
