Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th March 2016 from 9am: It seems like Tidworth Freeride has been closed for ages, but since the gates shut on the 31st December the Trail Team have been busy... very busy! It will be well and truly worth the wait with no rock left unturned and no berm left un-buffed - Tidworth Freeride has had it’s winter make over and is ready for the 2016 season!

Over the weekend of the 5th and 6th March Tidworth Freeride and B1KE have teamed up with partners and sponsors to put together an opening weekend to launch the 2016 season in style! We'll have TF Tuned, and TMC on site all weekend and fuelled by the culinary geniuses of Pothead and Panface. The gates open at 9am and you need to be be a B1KEPARK Network Member or Purchase a Day Pass to ride. Click over to b1ke.com/tidworthfreeride to sign up.

So far the test pilots have been blown away buy the changes made to the trails over the winter. Tidworth Freeride's Phil Potts takes us through the changes and what you can expect to ride in 2016:

Tidworth Freeride

"There's a brand new re-route to the end of Tidworth Freeride's Feature Trail - the 'White Line' - which has added 3 big jumps to a Trail that's already packed with big features. With the extended finish bringing it into the Car Park at the bottom of the hill a combination of the biggest features built at Tidworth Freeride to date pack out the new bottom section. There's a '30ft Step Down', into a '40ft Table Top' and a very trickable 'Step Up' that should see riders throwing down some huge tricks on their run into the finish...

'Sicknote' has had a complete make over making it into a flowy rollable downhill trail. It's really opened up it's appeal and is ideal for first timers through to experienced downhillers. It's become our test riders favourite and again it has a brand new finish section that brings the trail down into the Car Park.

The long awaited 'Derk Duncle' is now open! This track offers an alternate route off of the downhill 'Hoopers Struve', taking in the off-camber sections it's been delibertly left very natural to bring out the lines, with more tweaks to the track to come later in the year. Certainly one to keep an eye on for the riders looking for more natural technical riding.

The TF Tuned Sponsored trail, 'Oblivion' has had its lines 'tweaked' and 'tuned' opening up the bottom section of the track to carry more speed into the bigger 'Step Down' line. The last two jumps have also been tuned with the addition of a bridge over the 'Canyon Gap' as the trail nears the finish leaving the option open to catch some air or to progress your riding skills safe in the knowledge that coming up short won't end in Oblivion! (sorry).

It doesn't stop there for the Build Team with more planned. Look out over next month as 'River Flow' will be having a reboot with some exciting sections and we have some big rocks to put in there too!

Hopefully that's more than enough to look forward to in 2016. We look forward to seeing you at the Season Opener this weekend and if you can't make it down there we are now open daily Monday to Friday from 10am - 5.30pm and on Saturday's and Sunday's from 8.30am - 5.30pm. See you there!"
