"The Pit" is an mtb-edit we shot last year with Andreas Vold. We wanted the film to be more of a visual experience than a standard edit. Music: Padawan - We Follow.

Anyone else just keep thinking how much gravel must be in his shoes?

 I am...

 Yup

After that OTB in the end I am thinking gravel in his shoes is the least of his worries.
  • + 1
 Or in his undies.
  • + 1
haha. id like to see him riding that without goggles

A lot of videos about supper steep riding like this struggle to convey how insanely steep the terrain actually is this film did an awesome job of making me want to wet myself as we got the cross section shot along the ridge line with the greenery in the back ground. WOW

That suicide no hander shot... fackin beut.
  • + 38
Awesome, awesome awesome, but PLEASE put a stiffer spring in your fork. And turn up the compression damping. That 40 was sagging like my wife's tits.
  • + 18
Nah man, it is spot on. Make it stiffer and you're going to sacrifice performance... a properly set-up suspension will bottom out on the hardest of landings.

Let's hope she didn't see your comment ...

I highly doubt he needs any advice from you about his set up. Looks to me like he's ripping quite well with how he's set his bike up.
  • + 3
Stiffer fork = less performance? Someone better tell the WC guys that... personal preference is best and his setup seems to be working just fine. Those carves he gets in... damnnn
  • + 3
The world cup guys go Mach 8, and their forks do bottom. Believe it or not, an average rider's fork should have somewhere in the neighborhood of 30% sag.

that's one vid I didn't mind watching the slo mo, awesome riding and filming,

why didnt anyone see this nugget of gold.
  • + 1
 bust out the sand boards!
  • + 12
Seeing that last crash, I started wondering if this might actually be a very good application for a fat bike. Could be fun.

Love how he just tucks in and rolls at the last moment.

Great piece. But I'm gonna say, when someone's heading for a big hit, don't cut to the second angle just as they hit it. It's painful. As a guy that shoots all sorts of stuff all the time, the best angle is the best angle. If you have multiple cams running, they should mostly only convey images the best angle cam can't. All rules are meant to be broken, but if you break them too much it blows the flow. Still loved it.

Im just over here being thankful there was no scooter riding...

People don't riealize how hard it is to ride steep loose lines like this and stay in control or not crash.

What an awesome edit, especially as ski season rolls in. I liked watching this dude slay the mountain like a skier on a pow day.
  • + 2
Awesome riding and filming, reminds me of some of the first "Kranked" movies. Back then we called that style of riding "dune surfing".
  • + 3
What sucks most about doing facepants in shit like that is trying to get all the dirt out of your helmet...
  • + 5
... and out of your teeth and underoos
  • + 4
haha...yes...you know you ate shit really hard when you come to and you're chewing on rocks and plants inside your helmet... or at the end of a bike park day and you unload 1/4lb of gravel from out of your ass crack! haha good call on that one...
