once again on a cold sunday morning we set of up are road with all are gear on. we got to the parks and made are way through the Mayfield valley and a tricky rough climb up Cluff lane then with a half icy gritty climb up porter Cluff. once at the top of the steep bit i was practising wheelies on concrete. Then the snow was gathering round the edge of the tarmac. up past the alpaca farm and then we turned right up Ringinglow road. then after being overtaken by a load of road cyclists we turned left onto houndkirk Moor with the sun just rising in the distance looking over to sheffield. we quickly found are selfs on the 1 out of 2 bits of Houndkirk they have spoilt. But its still great fun and definitely faster. we got to the top of Houndkirk then boomed it down the other side were dad didn't even touch his breaks (or so he says.) then up onto Sheffield road for about 20 meters then right and then left onto the muddiest blackamoor i had ever seen. the puddles were at least a foot deep as we slowly made are way across the puddle seemed to get deeper and deeper. Finally we turned left down onto some very tough single track which was piled gloomy mud. on are right there was an almost shear drop down on the right my dad was in the lead and doing pretty well were i was behind putting my foot down very 5 seconds as we got about 3/4 of the way along the inevitable thing happened 'me and me bike went rolling down the hill for around 5 meters luckily the bike didn't roll straight onto my head but just tumbled down behind me.as i got to the end i was daunted by the grassy (snowy) climb ahead. but the time passed quickly and we were at the top of blackamoor nature reserve but then we had to turn onto Sheffield road because the first bit was closed, butt we quickly managed to find are way back onto blackamoor then a rough technical decent down onto shorts lane up on some roads i don't know the names of then down through Eccasall woods and onto Abydale road and back for a bacon sarny. a good 20 mile muddy ride.
