Check out the highlights from Round 3 of the Schwalbe tires British 4x series at a dusty 417 Bikepark. It was a day full of action with the rain holding off which made the track fast and loose! With the race being cancelled last year due to weather, everyone was exited to be back on one of the fastest tracks on the circuit.

Everyone was ready for the gate to drop.

The track is littered with multiple lines, berms and flowing jumps that helped riders get to the bottom of the hill in the fastest way possible. The first turn was carnage two years ago due to the rain turning it into an ice rink, this time around it was the dust made conditions tricky when trying to find grip in each switchback.

Only five female riders this weekend...C'mon girls!

The atmosphere at the British 4x Series is very supportive and has a family atmosphere which makes it great when allowing new people to get into the sport. Practice in the morning brings everyone together with riders following and helping others to get over the Pro-line and gate practice, making racing more competitive when the gate drops. Not only is it a way to get into racing, but it is a great way to enhance your skills on a bike.

The elite field was stacked with riders getting ready for the 4x Pro-Tour at Fort William in two weeks time.

Back to the racing, all categories was littered with riders that provided plenty of action. The first turn would help gain an advantage but various tight inside or wide outside lines would see racers trying new ideas to catch up and pass to get through to the A-final. In addition to this, the pro-line was the biggest feature on the track that also helped pass riders on the final turn before the finish. This could have been the difference between getting through to the semi-finals or finals.

Action packed racing from start to finish!

The difference from 1st to 4th was milliseconds with racers pushing to the finish, which made for some interesting final straight dashes. The atmosphere was electric with spectators bringing their voices to support everyone with racers respecting one another after crossing the line. The points standing for the overalls is now even closer with the next racing being National Champs at Afan, the roughest and most technical tracks in the series.

We hope to see you there!

A pity that they cant fit Fort William track so is not just gravel, but cant have everything or cant seem to find any one capable of making it run better, If it was up to me I would fix the first corner, but it is not?

It has always been great fun, but UCI screwed x4 over big time!
