Another hotly contested year of the Bell Built program has wrapped up for 2014 with $100,000 in building grants being split between three winners across the continent.

Bell West Coast Winner
Out of the four western regional finalists, the Ft. Tuthill Bike Park in Flagstaff, AZ, rallied up the most votes and will be one of the three winning projects to split the $100,000 Bell Built prize money. The grant will help fund the construction of the beginner and intermediate trails at the proposed bike park project, which will be open to the public for the entire mountain biking community to enjoy.

Bell Central Region Winner
Out of the four Central regional finalists, the Cottage Grove Bike Park in Cottage Grove, Minn., pulled in the most votes out of the four Central region finalists (12,322 votes to be exact). The Cottage Grove Bike Park, headed up by the Minnesota Off-Road Cyclists (MORC), will split the $100,000 in grant money to help secure the funding to complete the dirt jump section of the park, which will go alongside the 4x race track, two pump tracks, a tots track, slope-style course and a mountain bike skills course.

The Richmond Regional Ride Center, headed up by RVA MORE, will split the $100,000 in grant money with the two other regional winners (Ft. Tuthill Bike Park in Flagstaff, AZ, and the Cottage Grove Bike Park in Cottage Grove, MN). With help from both Bell Helmets and those at IMBA, this grant money will help secure the funding to rehabilitate 15 miles of existing mountain bike trail and construct an additional 20 miles of trail. Their goal is to incorporate approximately 15 miles of stacked-loop singletrack, and an additional 5 miles of flow trail, which will focus on a progression of difficulty. The project will also focus on improving the existing trails on-site to diversity trails and depth of experience, along with developing a new gateway trail with two loops for novices, children, handcycles and bicycles pulling child-trailers.

Way to be badass, Bell. I wish more companies did this sort of thing... maybe MTBing could really gain some popularity in the US before the crash at the end of the 90s.

Spot on, Scott. There are some seriously huge companies that benefit from more trails and more riders, and despite some of them giving large amounts to organizations like IMBA, very few cut out the middle man and just build. Keep it up, Bell!

Very excited to see Richmond getting support! Awesome trail system there already and this could help take it to the next level. The whole city has an awesome outdoors vibe...http://vimeo.com/96666525

That flow trail at Brown County Indiana would have been sick, I rode there last weekend and they have some sweet trails and enough vertical to make something awesome. I live closer to Andres so would have been great if they won, maybe next year something near Chicago will win it. Cottage Grove already looks like a sick bike park, will be interesting to see what they add with the funds.

people just need to pick up a shovel for 10 bucks at home depot and go dig some dirt............you dont need a 100000 dollar to build anything you just need a will and crew..............

Hope they're able to keep this up, definitely one of the best programs I've seen a manufacturer put on and I will certainly stay loyal to Bell/Giro because of it.

Copper Harbor Michigan received a Bell Built Grant and the trail that was created from the grant was astonishing.
