Updated: Aaron Gwin to Miss World Champs Due to Back Injury, Austin Dooley Now Reinstated to USA Team
Austin is the first american to qualify as a first year Elite (privateer). I believe this is Nesteroffs third or fourth year in the Elites.

Updated: Aaron Gwin Replaces Austin Dooley - USA Names 47 Rider Squad for Val di Sole World Champs
So explain to me why he would think it would be automatic if he wasn’t national champ in 2019 and If I remember correctly Gwin didn’t know he needed to petition for the 2020 world champs race either. USAC had to reach out to him then too. Not sure how he forgot in less than a year about the correct process since it was brought to his attention then. I would hope he would be more on top of things not only as a “team owner” but also as a racer. Gwin dropped the ball for the second year in a row. He’s pulling his entitlement card and I have zero respect for him.
