Such a good article yet again with Big Mountain Adventures !
Chris it has been a long time but one day we will catch up and ride again
Attending one of your tours is on my bucket list
Happy Trails
Nice article Stephen, Mattias, Chris, Wade, etc. Great photos and great narration. The trip was amazing! Truly a once in a lifetime adventure. Was fun to share it with you guys. We could see how hard you guys had to work to get all those shots.
Thanks Big Mountain Bike Adventures. We'll ride again soon.
Great video and story - just not quite so big a fan of the beautiful pictures with hard-to-read text scribbled across them, and the little cartoon figures sneaking in and mucking up otherwise amazing shots. Text would be great underneath or on top....different strokes etc.!
I watched The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, and Iceland was shown in that. After that I wanted to go to Iceland and bike. I was obsessed with Iceland! A year later Pinkbike comes out with all these videos of Iceland. It just gets me more and more stoked to go someday! Thank you Walter Mitty.
I'm lucky to go there in July for a mtb trip with my better half but without guiding. I'd love to know the must-do trails with trailhead accessible with a 4WD and potentially some GPS tracks to not get lost in the backcountry !
My girlfriend and I rode the trail last early summer with about 8km snowfields alltogether in 2 days, it was exhausting but it was every pedal worth. The landscape is incredible and there are some trails you cant find on other places. The video is nearly perfect but been there is even better :-)
just....wow scenery not from this world. kind of magic. would like to go there too....any guided packages available. including wade simmons as guide? ;-)
anyone else with problems posting from his mobile device?
You're right. Iceland is like being on a completely different planet. Or maybe it's the closest thing to actually being on Earth? Either way, what a privilege it muse be to ride there. These guys are lucky!
Laugavegur is such an amazing trail with the landscape changing completely on each day of the trip. I found even hiking it quite demanding (pitching the tent in freezing rain on Hraftinusker was something to remember), I can only imagine how hard it is to ride. Awesome.
@dirty-biker great to hear from you! Nice work on your tale from the Icy-land. Looks like you guys had one hell of an adventure. Happy trails and hopefully we'll cross paths again somewhere someday...Cheers!
Great write up, great photos, but that is not the greatest typeface to use for readability. Also, would love to see more of Iceland, such a beautiful country!
