Words: Chris Brasher Photography: Mark Pakula

Recently the Inaugural Sh*tbox Enduro took place in Sydney in an effort to raise funds for Kidney Health Australia, a cause close to my heart. The premise was simple, buy the sketchiest and cheapest clunker you could find and have some fun racing a mellow four stage Enduro at the Mill Creek Mountain Bike trails in Lucas Heights.

The event was a total success, the rain held out with smiles and laughter in abundance as competitors battled the terrain and mechanical issues. In the end we managed to raise $1150 for Kidney Health Australia and everyone took home some fantastic prizes thanks to our awesome sponsors: Cyclery Studio, Huck The World and The Wetseat.

 Cheers for Posting Pinkbike!

This is a cause very close to me, Kidney Health Australia have done so much for my father and my family, this is the least we could do to help.

Thanks again to all the riders, sponsors and supporters of the event. Couldn't have done it without you.

@Gravity-Fiend: jumping this thing f*cking sucks - tech or bumpy trails and shit like stair sets a lot more fun

Well, everything f*cking sucks but jumping more so cause its so easy to loop out or go otb if you land slightly off. drops aren't too bad

Geez, with the current market all those bikes are 1k rigs. A shit box these days would be like a few spokes and maybe a starnut for $300

there are still bargains to be had. My bike was a mint 2001 Kona Cinder Cone in XL size with a spare set of wheels for $50! The bike is a museum piece it's that clean.
