PRESS RELEASE: Commencal

Our new 2019 range marks another turning point in our approach to mountain biking. Whether it’s the kids, the electric or the classic range, we re-worked all the details so you can ride a bike that is just perfect for you. But what if the difference is not blindingly obvious?

From the manufacturing processes of the frames to the choice of the best shades of colours and finishes. From the selection of high-quality headset bearings giving unmatched precision to wheels that have come more reliable and reactive with improved spokes and nipples, including complete wheel-sets from the most prestigious brands. Our choice of internationally renowned components has been meticulously selected for their high standards. Everything has been reviewed.

Next up is the arrival of our new platforms! The CLASH, the little bro to the FURIOUS, is a new enduro edition which is simple, ultra-modern, playful and terribly effective. We also see the arrival (in force) of 29-inch wheels for the META TR, META AM, META POWER and SUPREME! These are brand new frames, not just 29”-adapted old models... All 29-inches of this size are amazing - comfort, performance and stability! Whether you’re competing or just passionate, the progression of components and the modern geometries are a pleasant surprise. If you think a 29er is still a big cumbersome, unagile bike, then it’s probably time to change your mind.

Having said that, it’s not that we want to shake everything up too much, because rightly so, 27.5” wheels still have a long trail-life. But, the brand new CLASH will prove itself. You simply have the choice.

No SX? I tried to buy one this year and their weren't enough.

It makes me sad that we live in a world where there isn't enough demand for the SX to be a must-have in their lineup.

they diccontinue the 2 coolest bikes: supreme sx and meta cromo. I already own the meta just need to find a good deal on the supreme now

I was hoping for Meta SX 29'er. Can't pedal a supreme around.

With all these supposedly faster 29’s we need better & bigger. Brakes
  • + 2
 Wait.... no META AM 27.5?

Yeah maybe this is just showing what's new, notthe whole lineup. Surely they didn't change almost their entire range to boring 29ers.

No short travel 29er? Not everyone lives near a lift access bike park and needs 170-180mm

 Look again.

 @casman86: I was thinking 100/100

 WHAT no SX?

Are they still putting press fit bottom brackets on everything in their lineup? Not that it matters I guess, I won't buy anything from a moped company.

 kawasaki is pretty cool

Good luck. Fewer and fewer companies choosing NOT to build an ebike in one form or another.

@bman33: There's tons still. None of the real core MTB companies make ebikes or ever will.
  • + 1
@casman86: Guerilla Gravity, Transition, Evil, YT maybe a few others that not many on this side of the pond know about. I despise ebikes as well. However, just because a company makes them, doesn't make the bikes less/more bad ass that aren't ebike. I have a Pivot Mach enduro/trail bike. It doesn't shreds any less than if they didn't make ebikes. Anyone going to call out Steve Smith (RIP) if he was still around riding because Devinci makes ebikes? Semenuk rides for Trek, he can out ride all of us backwards, on a tricycle down A-line even though Trek makes ebikes. My money is on Nukeproof creating an ebike in the next year or two, bet not a single person calls out Sam Hill for still riding for them they do.

If anything, that extra money coming in from ebikes allows them to pay 'real' riders more money in the end.

 Bring back the cromo!!!

Oh wait, they still have it as a frameset.....ignore me.
