2019-OCT 61 year-old, 285 lbs., diabetic diagnosed with congestive heart failure. I could hardly walk-through Safeway due to numbness in my feet due to neuropathy. I was so weak that if I fell, I need help getting up. To say life was less than enjoyable would be an understatement. 2021-May 63 year-old, 240lbs., diabetic but on days when I ride, I do not take any insulin, on days I don’t ride, I take about ½ what I did in 2019. Still have congestive heart failure but my heart efficiency has improved significantly. I ride my mountain bike three or more days a week at Banner Forest. When I started in 2020-May, I could barely ride a mile. Now, I ride 5 to 12 miles at a time. The videos you are watching are not the fastest times for these trails but, at 63, I think they are pretty darn impressive. When I fall, I do not need help getting up. And I can do so many more activities than I could in 2019 and I enjoy life again. Mountain biking saved my life - literally. CWSMTB
