There are many decisions our customers are forced to make in a season: 27” wheels vs. 29” wheels, VPP Suspension vs. Split Pivot Suspension, Coors Light vs. Pilsner…. You get the point; the marketplace is a confusing giant for the average consumer. This is why at the Calgary Cycle Group we have assembled an all encompassing suspension bike demo fleet to ensure if you are coming into the store to buy a bike you have every tool at your disposal to make the best decision possible regarding your new two wheel steed. We present to you the 2014 Calgary Cycle Group Demo Fleet.
What is the Calgary Cycle Group Demo Fleet? It is a 75 bike demo fleet with bikes ranging from a Scott Spark 920 to a SantaCruz Bronson C. It is active at 8 demos through out the season and provides customers with a chance to try out new products on actual trails before making their final decision on a bike purchase. What spawned the idea to provide a demo fleet for customers to try bikes before they buy them? With all of the changes in bicycle technology from season to season we were finding customers were hesitant to pull the trigger on a bike purchase without knowing, first hand, how these differences affected the ride of their beloved two wheeled mountain machine. We understood this feeling ourselves and decided that a demo fleet would be a good investment in helping customers make the right decisions and leave them happy with their purchase indefinitely. We were able to come to some agreements with our suppliers that made the cost of running a demo fleet manageable and now we have a 75+ bike demo fleet that is fully maintained and operational. What kinds of bikes are available for demo?We have a full range of Cross-Country, Trail, and All-Mountain style bikes from Santa Cruz, Juliana, Intense, Trek, Scott, and Yeti. There is also a Pinerello and BMC road offering to satisfy the pavement junkies. A full list is available at www.calgarycyclegroup.com/bikelist The Calgary Cycle bike demo runs like a well oiled machine. It runs at the bottom of the COP east lands trails in Calgary, or in the parking lot of the West Bragg trails in Bragg Creek, Alberta.
The Next demo takes place on Thursday July 3rd, 2014 at the COP East Lands Trailhead. As you approach it is impossible to miss the huge gypsy style tent city that is set up as you approach the trails. All of the bikes are lined up and numbered, all you have to do is sign a waiver, produce a piece of ID and a credit card and you can get out testing whatever bike you would like. The wonderful techs from Calgary Cycle, Pure Cycle, and Cycle 22X will then go through a custom suspension set up, as well as a seat height and control orientation before sending you out on the trails. After you are done riding your first choice, all you have to do is pop your bike back past the service tent, Swap your ID to the next bike and get out on your next ride to provide a direct comparison.
When it comes to the best way to make a decision on what bike to purchase for the season the guys at the Calgary Cycle group have it figured out. This demo allows you to compare between bike sizes, wheel sizes, or suspension designs on real trails. You can take one of each bike out for a 20-30 minute loop and directly compare them against each other until you have enough information to help you make a decision on what works best for you. When you are done for the day there is usually some Coke’s, Water’s, or Gatorade’s to be passed around to ensure you are hydrated.
The employees behind the scenes of this demo care about the bikes you rode just as much as you do. Don’t think you will be able to escape without talking to someone about what suspension design you liked best or weather you liked the ride of a trail bike over an all-mountain style bike, etc. It is evident after walking away from this event that the guys behind the scenes at Calgary Cycle do not just want to sell you a bike. They want to make sure you are picking the perfect ride for your next mission to the mountains and are not going to stop until they have helped you in every aspect of the selection process.
If you are considering buying a new bike this season it is crucial that you stop by one of the Demo stops that the Calgary Cycle Group is putting on. These guys will make sure you have tried every bike they have to fit your riding style, as well as educate you on the differences between the bikes, and make sure all your questions are answered.
