Video: Dirt Jump Session & Trail Bike Laps with Cam McCaul

by Cam McCaul

A 2-bike day. Let's straddle the spectrum and ride two bikes in one day. 29'ers on the trail, 26's at the jumps. What trail? "Lone Wolf" in Bend Oregon. What jumps? "The Lair" ... also in Bend Oregon. Who should I ride with!?!? Well, Drew Barber of course. Drew is my friend who is just as good at riding bikes as he is building trails for them and working on them. We pack it all into 1 afternoon and successfully accomplish the best riding day ever... Until the next riding day. Which might also be the next video..... so you might as well subscribe right? Right.

Thank you for watching my friends.

Ok bye,

-Cam

Cam seems like the permanent 10 year old. So much fun whatever he does.

Who hop. That’s my ten year old sending the one footed can at the end. The grom scene at the Lair is awesome.

Please be considerate when throwing around trail work credit — especially legit trail founder names. I realize the vid is all fun, as are the trails — but man, the real design and labor deserves at the least the correct names and “thank you”. Some places have cool rogue anonymous labor, others have worked on an entirely different level of public land trail building. Respect ✊ for the Bend founders and builders. Rips and tricks mean much less when there are no trails, lines or shapes. .

Oregon is an awesome place. Recreation of all kinds throughout the state. Bend is a fantastic area to visit, snow skiing, mtb ( also Velosolution pump track just north in Redmond), hiking, rock climbing, moto, kayaking, fishing, hunting, ect... If you like to be outdoors this is one cool destination !

can I pump my own gas there, yet?

@Beau-Doug: hell no! You, my friend, are not qualified to pump gas in this fine state.

@merlin33: so it’s the New Jersey of the west coast? Are you allowed to turn left at an intersection?

Showed this to my step sons this morning, they're just learning to ride mtb. Then I surprised them by taking them to the Lair. They didn't realize it was in our back yard!

I agree best trail in town right now, and will surely only get better as time goes on!

Drew may not have known the history of this trail before moving to Bend, but it was much more than a "Pirate Trail" before he helped finish it. Big thanks to Lev Stryker(Cog Wild), Chris Greer, Kiwi Paul(Dirt Mechanics), Paul Thomasberg, and all the others who devoted time to cut this trail in the past few years, and to push for one of the few actual advanced trails we now have in Bend, because of them!

Best vid in a while on PB. Cam's riding is always amazing and equally great to see him sessioning with local kids and helping them. More of this for us old guys with kids that will soon be shredding.

Truly love Cam's energy and how he always takes the time to interact with the kids and give them a tip to help out their riding.

I need to get out to bend so badly. It’s the same length of drive there as to Blackrock.
