Well, that's not a nice thing to say. Chris King has a full time gourmet chef to cook for the employees, does Hope have that?

All those parts!! Where's my 42 tooth I ordered 2 months ago???

 Hope has butty fridays. Boom

I just looked up butty friday on Google and ended up on a big booty porn site. Maybe Hope does win this round.

My daughters called hope, not after the brand but something completely different

The brand still inspired this though

Hope make some good parts, but they ain't no Chris King, or Tune for that matter.
  • 3 2
I love Hope stuff, but Chris King hubs are second to NONE.

hope has the best rotor in the industry!
  • 2 0
Chris King is not to be found in the same price category. If you want something that works, but you don't want to spend all your savings, go for Hope.

 Porn. Good porn.

I absolutely LOVE these articles and videos that show what goes into the products we ride. These are by far my favorite things to read on pinkbike....must explain why I became an engineer. One day I would like to get my own bike component company going....one day...
  • 3 0
Dude I feel you there! I work at a aerospace machine shop up in B-ham doing a lot of this same stuff but some of it I only got a taste of in school, like automated production. I too have that same hope for one day... or at least work for one!

Let me fix that for you with a quick and honest edit; "I absolutely LOVE these *advertisements* and *marketing material* that *promote* the products we *are being sold*."
  • 6 0
m0ngy your a tool with that generic anti corporate comment. Some some of us enjoy seeing how things work behind the scenes of a quality manufacturing company, especially people like me where this truly is my passion. You should also keep in mind that this "marketing material" you speak so poorly of is for a smaller component company and not a giant that outsources to third world countries.

I'm absolutely correct though, there's no dispute about that.

Right... Time to spend far too much money.

f*ck college, i´ll work for them even if i have to live under a bridge. as long as i get a bike specked out with hope stuff...
  • 5 1
I think you need some college degrees in order to work for Hope....
  • 3 1
To work upstairs in design, yeah. But just about everything else is doable with a little staff training.

Icredible machinery... Great company. Glad I made the right choice for my hubs. Haven't been 100% satisfied with my tech v2 brakes because I wanted something more "shimano powered" but the great cnc work on these is astonishing.
  • 10 0
Oh boy.... I wish every work place could be like that Smile And yes, I love my Hope brakes!

"...All staff get at least one bike of their choosing..."

HELL YEAH!!!

Man I miss my Triumph scrambler, that's not a restored one it's the Steve McQueen special!!

Great video. I would have liked to see more filming of the employees, however - a few times I felt as if they were trying to avoid shots of the people who actually tend the machines and put the products together. The one machinist doing CAM work was shown, but after that, not many actual people. I love machines more than most, but people in a company are important.
  • 6 0
what an amazing company, it makes you want to go out and buy a full hope kit in an anodised color lol

What an amazing harmony of people and machine. I love my M4s. So intresting to see the behind the scenes process. I just figured magical elves worked all night to make everything.

I'm on a pair of 1st gen pro 2 hubs from 2002/3 , still running perfect , just look after the bearings once a year with a clean and grease and they are good to go Smile

Life's too short to spend much time working a dead end job, just to make some other prick rich. Keep your vision in perspective, acquire the appropriate skills, but most importantly, NEVER give up, and you will get there in the end.

 I agree

Well, that factory tour was truly awesome.

I contacted Hope as to why you can't get their gear in green. They said only sponsored athletes get the green. Apparently sponsored athletes and people who work at the factory.

I work at a bike shop, and the first thing I am doing tomorrow when I get in is ordering a shit ton of hope parts. no questions asked

Before you do, ensure you have the technical ability to service and tweak Hope brakes often, as required. Even after four or five generations, Hope brakes still require regular attention. Hope could learn something from Shimano, who haven't made a bad hydro brake system yet.

This evening I'm going to my LBS to get my new wheels. Hope rear hub, Sapim Race spokes and Stan's Flow rims. I'm even more stoked after reading this article.
