Whet your appetite for the Enduro World Series and watch Team CRC Mavic doing what they do best – riding full speed on the incredible trails at the Windrock Bike Park.

Filmed during pre-season training at SRAM's suspension setup camp, this was the first time the new-look team had been together and a perfect opportunity for the guys to get used to their new Nukeproof Megas before the much-anticipated EWS season.

bigquotesPre-season testing in Windrock was the perfect place for the team to come together for the first time in 2018, get to know each other, the bikes and to smash out plenty of runs down the many trails Neko and his team have built here. It looks set to be another awesome year at the EWS and we cannot wait!Nigel Page, CRC Team Manager

windrock enduro is 1000x more DH than Sea Otter and Fontana combined.
  • 9 1
Sea Otter has never claimed to be a World Cup level DH race. They know what it is, just a fun "DH" race on the terrain given at a yearly race/industry event. The bashing of the Sea Otter DH is such a damn lame and played out gripe. Yes, you can ride a trail bike down it. No it doesn't have 2000 feet of elevation change. There.......
All that said, Windrock is legit shit. I've ridden there a few times several years back. It's look more legit now that ever

This Windrock bike park is starting to build a name for itself.

Neko Mulally owns it, it's pretty much what a World Cup racer would build for himself

Too bad the CRC Team couldn't stick around to compete in the ProGRT. Would have been nice to see Sam Hill against the 29" V10s and other World Cup racers.

WTF @ 3:09 mang? Jus' the angle or is that shit big as my dick & sloppier than yo momma' a*shole w/the diarrhoea? Hard to say what be the more fun ride but this looks way more dangerous. Props to that f*cker gettin' all steezy on it.

I hope Snowshoe takes notes from Wndrock.
  • 6 0
Won’t ever happen. Snowshoe is corporate owned. Insurance and what not. Windrock is owned by a coal company. The sole purpose of Windrock is getting gnarly off-road in whatever mode of transportation you choose. Rock crawlers, UTV’s, atv’s, motorcycles, bicycles. If you can get rowdy on it you’ll find it at Windrock.

@Cbc4447: I know I know....it sucks. We just want a proper jump line.I did see they built some at the end of the year.Havent hit them yet though.

@Cbc4447: Nevermind there is still Snow on the ground.

@nug12182: There's not really a jump trail at Windrock. Jumps stashed everywhere, but not like it's tons more than Snowshoe. I'd be happier than a hellcat at either place. Best jumps are still at Diablo for me on the East Coast. Those step downs, step ups and so much more

@Cbc4447: that’s what I was thinking! This is the safest, soberest, sane thing that happens at Windrock. Google/YouTube “Windrock” and see what you get. I’m so stoked this is getting the recognition it deserves.

@bizutch: I totally agree!!I love diablo and the fact you call it that.

@bizutch: heres a question...are they even opening the bike park this year?I know last year they were having $ problems.

So anyone else think Elliott looks like Harry Potter?

A filthy dirt ripping, berm destroying version, but Harry Potter none-the-less.

Do none of the team choose to ride the 29" wheeled Mega?
  • 5 1
yeah it is probably much faster, so they don't
  • 1 0
@Trailstunter: Yeah well if it was too easy Sam wouldn't do it, hence the flats right? hahaha and as every freerider knows, fast =/= fun necessarily hahahaha
  • 1 0
maybe they are not tall enough?
  • 4 0
@Asmodai: The wheel should fit the rider, and the frame will follow...at least that's what I have always thought.

Tall guys like Minnaar are elated at finally having a bike that really fits (29er). Did you ever see how many headset spacers he and Peaty used to run back in the days of 26"?

The flip side is that 29" may not be faster for everyone. Danny Hart was on a tear with 650b, but lost the edge about when he went to 29, it can be argued.

Sam Hill, not being a tall guy, is probably comfortable on 27.5. And since he's a true competitor, I'm willing to bet he has at least tested on 29.

yeah that was exactly my point

stupid question here from a west coaster... sorry in advance. How come theres no greenery in that forest?
  • 8 1
Being born and raised in CA and now living in GA (3hrs from Windrock) for 20 years I feel for you. We have seasons here on the east side of the country and it's winter time. Wait a couple of months and then look at videos and pictures and it will be greener than you can imagine.
  • 16 0
Cause it's winter and all deciduous forest.
  • 6 0
It is winter and everything besides the pines is deciduous. all the leaves are on the ground

 middle of winter

ROFL!!!! I'm not laughing at you. Rather, I'm laughing because having also grown up in California, I was a bit shocked seeing my first east coast winter. New Jersey looked like a bomb went off!!! Now I love it. Tn is awesome during the winter for riding. March can be brutal rain wise and it gets properly muddy!

Not a dual crown fork to be seen... skillz.
  • 3 1
Wow. Red forks. I want. These trails.

Fast, hard, down anx dirty. Perfect! There is an old school vibe about this video, loved it! Cheers

Come to the West coast next time. Bellingham/PA/Seattle awaits your arrival

 They've both been here.

Has Sam ever raced the Northwest Cup?
  • 1 0
@Rucker10: care to support that with evidence?
  • 1 0
@BDKR: Not that I know of. There was that year that the volcano blew up in Iceland and there was no air travel. Racers stuck in the US went to the NW Cup after Sea Otter was over. It was rad. Minnaar, Hart, Gwin, and others were all there. No Sam Hill though.
