Madness ensues as former World Cup downhill racer and Charge Bikes rider Dave Wardell, steps up when Santa needs some help to do the rounds. Armed only with his trusty sack and his Cooker 27 Plus, Dave sets off on his Christmas mission while finding some time to hit a few decent trails on the way too...
If they were available when I first started riding, I would have been happy to ride a hardtail, or even rigid, 27+ bike just for the extra cushion and better geometry. Most "mountain bikes" had more in common with road bikes than BMX, so they handled super sketchy and you felt every single bump in the trail. All of the trails were worn in by hikers so they were completely natural, never seen a rake or shovel. I remember my body feeling beat to hell after many rides. Plus back then, only rich white people rode full suspension bikes and they were heavy and couldn't climb hills well. This would have been a dream bike back then. I would love it if they made several tires in the 2.5-2.7 range and let us pick what fits our frames and terrain.
