Sep 18, 2019Balfa Minuteman, long frame
$500 GBPEmotional as it is, the time has come to say goodbye to my Balfa.
If you remember these from their era, you’ll know how versatile and sought after they were. Originally it was built up for street riding, but over the years morphed into more of a general trail hardtail, before being dug out again recently and having some Supermoto tyres put on for evenings at the pump track.
Condition is as you’d expect given the age, but has been well loved and looked after over the years and still rides well. The build is all age appropriate and running well. Highlights include Marzocchi 66 RC2X forks, Hope Mono M4 brakes, Hope Bulb on Mavic EX729 rims, Truvativ Holzfeller cranks, Shimano 105 mech on 11-28 cassette (and a chain not even showing 0.5% stretch), with a Sram Attack 8 speed shifter. I have to confess the seatpost is seized, but there are plenty of people out there that can rectify this.
In the not too distant future, I will be stripping it down and advertising the major parts separately. As such, I’m open to some movement on price, but aware that I can still get reasonable money for these bits individually.
I’m based in Sheffield but happy to ship it anywhere at the buyer’s expense via UPS.
Feel free to get in touch with any questions you may have.
Many thanks

Sep 18, 2019XL Whyte S-150C RS with upgrades and extras - REDUCED!
$2200 GBPIt’s time to part company with my Whyte. Was bought new in October 2018 and ridden but well maintained since.
The bulk of the spec is as it originally was, with key upgrades to make the bike mine…
Renthal Fatbar 35, 800mm wide, 10mm rise
Renthal Apex 35 stem, 30mm long
Shimano M7000 SLX brakes with 203/180mm Ice Tech rotors
Maxxis Minion DHF 29x2.5WT (3C/TR/EXO) front tyre
Maxxis Minion High Roller 2 29x2.5WT (3C/TR/EXO) rear tyre
(both set up tubeless with Stan’s sealant)
DMR Deathgrips (soft, thick)
There are the usual signs of wear, such as a few scuffs from uplifts and car racks, however the frame has been wrapped in Invisiframe since its first ride, along with rubber wrapping on the chainstay and seatstay, additional taping on any potential cable / hose rub points, and pedal washers and crank boots (which will be supplied) on the cranks, meaning nothing has got through to the important bits.
The bike has been fully serviced since its last ride. Suspension was serviced at the start of the summer, but can include a fork seal kit for the next service. All bearings are still running smoothly as you’d want. To give an idea of the wear on the bike, the original chain is still measuring at less than 0.5% stretch.
I’m based in Sheffield, but am happy to post anywhere at the buyer’s expense. Have flown with and shipped bikes many times in the past, so it will be well wrapped and packaged and sent via UPS, who I have generally found to be the best value.
Feel free to get in touch with any questions you might have.
Many thanks
