So awesome that the different big name sponsors don't keep sick riders from making sick edits together

Yeah it's cool, I like an edit sometimes when the defining connection with that group is something minor like all using the same tyres or whatever. Feels much more real somehow. Just feels a bit less like 'we all ride the same bike and are paid to ride together'. I guess partly because of what you're saying, they're all using different bikes etc, so it looks more normal. More like a session. Haha... Looks like a session.

Pretty sure CHROMAG might just possibly be the best damn brand name around. Heck, it's even pretty cool just as a word! Say it.. 'CHROMAG!' CHROOOOOMAAAAAAG! It's like some sorta ancient battle cry.

The cool thing about chromag is that its not one of these mountainbike brands that focus only on innovative techniques but more on style and vibe and thats also what riding bikes is to me, a very fast and manly sport that is about style, aesthetics and lifestyle . More mountainbike brands should realize that, just as it has happened years ago in the bmx scene.

'I think we can riiide..... So I've no need to crryyyy'

Like he said at the top, damn. Nothing but good shit here. Places look like heaven, amazing riding and an awesome tune. Why don't people like high definition slow motion? Big whips/choppy corners/nose-bonk to E.T? lol... in slo-mo, with a great tune, gives me tingles.

I do not know how he managed to pedal in the air without using a clip.. something pedals. I really enjoyed the video. It is time for another replay.
  • 2 0
Why would you need clips to do an ET? Try it, I dare ya. Smile
  • 1 1
I tried to do it some time ago and it is impossible for me. I gave up. That is not so usefull, just cool to watch. Apart from that I don't even have a bike to try it. Now I have to seal my shock. There was a leak and I've just returned home without rebound damping. That is not even safe.
  • 1 0
Et was created in bmx for style.. flats all the way! I say it all the time if you need clips you need to go back and learn on flats then go to clips and see how much better you are
  • 1 0
Was it created for style? Or was it a fallout from bmx racing where they kept pedalling over some of the jumps so they hit the ground 'running'?
Either way, you're right, flats for skills, if you can't do almost everything you do on clips.. on your flats, then back to school! I don't get why, if you can pedal on the ground without being clipped in, why would it be different in the air? Maybe he should try starting with going for half a crank rotation in a bunnyhop. And then so on. Sounds pointless but isn't it all just additional bike control that will probably aid you somewhere without you even recognizing it happened? Brendan Howey isn't a badass because he learnt to do a pointless ET. Hes a badass because he learnt all the pointless aspects of riding a bike, can now use them instantly, subconsciously, and thus, is a badass on a bike.

4x, bmx, dual slalom. These are the disciplines it's worth to learn how to pedal in the air. From my shoes, when I never race, when my most powerfull astonishment is to use an off road bicycle to go really offroad, I have to admit I don't care. There are few moments when I fly and minding my immense weight it is always too fast. I like to watch 4x racers when they pedal in the air, but I don't need to do it, to point my goals. Most important techniques I have to know are tilting my bike from side to side when pedallling strong from seat and by this using side agressive tire thread, bunny jump as high as possible and at any speed. It is also usefull to know how to bunny from place to place with wheels stopped. Wheelie, manual, precise cornerring with braking and stuff to respond unknown ahead. Remember I don't race and I don't use trails that are meant for biking. Mainly I use paths for fishermen going around lakes. Extremely narrow, lot of bushes, deep black mud and roots. A lot of traverses, narrow winding paths crossing fields, forests etc. This way although I need to pedal it strong all the time, clips would not help since I have to sit on and off bike often. The most usefull feature of the downhill bike I am using for this in my craziness is the slack geometry that helps when I see nothing at night time and there are obstacles ahead that want to throw me over bars.
