The North Shore is a kooky place. Amongst the newly built connectors and graded climbing trails, lives a maze of gnarled trail and forgotten stunts. At times it feels like you’re riding through the hallways of a Mountain Biking Museum, but then you’ll turn a corner onto a beautifully crafted, brand new piece of trail. There’s an opportunity to seemingly move back and forth through time as you connect the stunts of the past with today’s modern network. Imagination and creativity are what made The North Shore famous. So on your next ride, go explore and find something new…or old.

Agree - need an old Norco hitting loads of skinnies / see saws etc
  • 13 2
Skinnies, more tech, less flow. And by skinnies I mean Dangerous Dan width from 01-03, not New World Disorder boardwalks from 06-08. Moss covered rocks, lots of roots, teeter totters......steep sections... But unfortunately that riding is nearly dead, that masses couldn't handle it.

@fattirefury12, on the other hand, handled it like a boss. Because he is awesome.

@fattirefury12, thank you, my faith in humanity (and the shore) is restored...

I urge anyone who can to check out the North Shore, this place changed everything I thought I knew about riding a bike,
amazing trails for days, cool people, BC bud, whats not like?

As a person who lives on the shore if you want to try our riding I recommend you stay for a long time because there is so much to ride

The title/intro text got me hyped to see some old school elevated stunts and teeter-totters. Possibly the first time I've been disappointed by fast paced, well filmed loam shredding.

Honestly though, great clip. I was just too stoked on ladder bridges

Stephen Matthews has some serious flow on the trail bike! Stellar edit.

I don't really get some of the music Cunucks listen to but oh well. Did anyone watch the TV series "Alone" that just finished Near this area where people could get $500,000 for just surviving? Shit drop me off there with my bike, a Bic lighter, and my pocket knife.

Just saw the finale of that for the first time today. It was filmed on the Northern end of Vancouver Island, and I live on the South end in Victoria. To be fair, the weather is pretty extreme up there, particularly in the winter which is when they supposedly did it. I'm not sure your bike would do you much good in that sparsely populated part of the island. But hey, for five hundo, I'd be in.

thats new school ladies and gents. whats old school, is me and the fellas learning to ride on the north shore sending ourselves off of big drops and steep rock faces on old heavy downhill bikes with only one brake, and broken parts and all that good stuff

As a north shore local, if you want to try our trails i suggest you go somewhere else. Most of them are dumbed-down to the point where my grandmother could rip them. Cypress is still fun but Fromme suuuuucks.

Do people really do wheelies in the middle of the trail for no reason? Haha. I have never done that!
  • 6 0
it's not for no reason, it's cause it's crazy fun
