It all started a few weeks ago at Burlington Mountain Bike Park. I was headed up to Burlington for a normal evening of riding and enjoying the park when I met a couple riders from Calgary. Scott and his buddy Corbin drove over the border a few days to camp and ride in the States. Scott and I started riding together and doing some trains and before you know it we were buddies. Scott told me about a trip he wanted to make in a few weeks to Kelowna, Kamloops, and in between. I told him I was really interested and that I had only ridden in Whistler and Vancouver. Scott told me I had to join them so last week I took a few days off of work and headed north. I drove straight to Kamloops to catch Scott on his second leg of his trip. When I got to Kamloops I was so stoked to see the wild, dry, and rugged terrain. I met up with Scott and his two buds Tyson and Galen. All three had been traveling, camping, and riding bikes for 6 days already. I set up camp with them and we got to riding. I had no idea what to expect the riding to be like because I had only seen photographs and videos of Kamloops Bike Ranch. When I got there I was absolutely blown away. The work that Brad Stuart(park manager) has done is outstanding. We hiked up through the jumps at about 9 am thinking we were about to have a few hours to ourselves. Little did we know Brad had already had several cups of coffee and had the whole place buffed, watered and groomed. What a way to find a bike park I've never ridden before. It was like heaven. We continued to camp ride and enjoy life in Kamloops for four days. It was one of my favorite bike trips I have ever taken. Thanks Brad for all your hard work and thank you boys for an unforgettable trip and ride. I will be back to Kamloops very soon! If you guys haven't ever made it out to Kamloops it is worth the drive, the plane ride, or whatever it takes to get you out there. Have a great ride!
