Part 2 of Hans Rey and Tibor Simai's Argentina adventure comes to you via one of the most incredible rides either of them has ever done... a 3-day traverse of the high Andes, starting in the desert and finishing in the jungle.
Yeah didn't really help the video at all.... such an incredible adventure and they turn it into the video you see playing on the side of a channel guide you first see when turning on a hotel t.v. The "host" is kinda lame and there's way to much footage of him. Lame humor surrounded by cartoon sounds... I didn't know the 5-year-old was a big demographic in mtbing. At least there were some very cool shots and Hans Rey. He's still killing it. Really wish there was more of a focus on the legendary riders and of the ride itself.
Damn that advertising thing. I share your concerns about excessive pop ups obliterating my handsome good looks and have conveyed them to the powers that be at EpicTV. dfiler for your info, these are epicTV commissioned content, hence the logo throughout so I guess to get them to pay me the mega bucks to do these trips they have to tell people who they are. Funny world isnt it. And Scott... apologies for my reluctance to grow up; my British off-kilter humour is never to everyone's taste. I apologise for ruining your workday afternoon. Essentially what my series is meant to do is to introduce a few smiles, light-heartedness and an alternative take to the serious-moody-pickuptruck-shuttle-to-top-shallow-focus-amateur-DSLR-shot-in-misty-forest-but-with-no story-world of MTB videos. If you want to know more about this trip watch for the photo stories coming out in the mags in the next couple of months.. Bike Germany, MBUK etc.
Oh no worries man, I don't care enough about this video that it ruined my afternoon, just saw it as a wasted opportunity is all. I prefer videos that are different than the typical serious edits filled with blood/sweat but this seemed like a bad attempt. Then again, my taste prefers more content around the legendary riders and the ride itself that the edit is based on, rather than having 90% of the footage being a guy talking about himself with cartoonish sound effects playing in the back. Hopefully that'll change for the next one.
hey .. wanting more word from the legends I hook up with, then try episode 12 with Fabien Barel.. www.epictv.com/media/podcast/how-to-ride-enduro-with-fabien-barel-%7C-trail-ninja-ep-12/274416 or earlier episode with Mark Weir teaching my dumb ass to ride pump track.. www.epictv.com/media/podcast/trail-ninja-how-to-pump-track-101-with-mark-weir/225409 The series is really aimed at showing viewers what a destination/trail is like, and arming them with the info to go ride there themselves, rather than a pro-rider-focussed film, but sometimes the pro riders are part of it, though usually we're there shooting features for the print mags too. But yep, you have a point. Having Hans talk more is probably way more interesting than me showing my big daft mug. On that note, keep a look out my the episode with Matt Hunter in Afghanistan, coming shortly....
Send me an invoice for your lost minutes of your life. You can address it to me c/o EpicTV. Thanks for your attention and apologies for the time theft when you could rightly have been out slaying a trail. In my defense, most people can tell that my show is crap within the first minute.
Does the humidity and altitude combined make it a lot harder to acclamate than compared to the say the Rockies or smokey mountains? Thanks for answering too!
Damn really? Sorry. Well these vids are shot in parallel to shooting photo stories so I guess to get the full impact you'll need to read those stories when they come out in the mags. Essentially though these are kind of documentaries so have to mis in the off bike feel, trail and location info as well as the glory of the bike action. But thanks for the feedback... maybe I need to up the amount of bike action.
Thank you pink bike for not being like that.
