10 Things I Loved In 2022: Mike Kazimer
I also saw Boris on the recent tour. One of the best shows ive been to in a while. Their switch to being a glam hardcore band is really inspired for a three decads old band.
Not the loudest band ive seen, but super loud for sure and definitely louder than dino jr

First Look: Revel's New Rail 29
on my rascal, rocks getting caught hasn't been a huge issue, but it's definitely not the most mud friendly linkage ever. If you can at least do a quick hose down after a ride in sticky stuff, it's not the end of the world. this linkage is obviously reworked for the rail29 though

First Look: Revel's New Rail 29
Current rascal owner on the east coast and wondering if it's worth it to sell the rascal and buy a rail29 for a little extra comfort at the bike park. I like some of the incremental updates, but was maybe hoping for a longer reach/shorter top tube. Or just a size that puts 5'9" folks in the middle because my biggest issue with the rascal is that a med felt small so I went with the large which has a very long feeling top tube. this is a little better with the sta, but I'm not sure if just one degree will help.
Also not sure how I feel about the domain on the gx build for a 6k dollar bike, but I wasn't expecting a great "value" from a more boutique brand like this anyway. There's always the 2.1 damper upgrade. Also interesting how conservative the numbers still are. I think that makes this seem like it could be a great "aggressive trail" bike, but compared to a lot of enduro bikes on the market, it does feel conservative, which does make it a good pick for someone like me that just wants a good trail bike that can cover me when I write checks my skills are not able to cover. FWIW I do love my rascal and have absolutely drank the CBF kool-aid.

2021 Pinkbike Awards: Mountain Bike of the Year Nominees
Interesting that none of these are traditional trail bikes. We just have Enduro and "down country" (which is yes, a short travel trail bike by some regards), but nothing in a mid travel range. Any thoughts as to why or are those two places just where the excitement is right now?

@StrayLeafmtb: you're not the only one. Also serious run-time padding.

You try thinking of 10 mechanic tips that are only 10 seconds long and fit to run at the end of an episode. Although yes, I agree. Insanely irrelevant.

Wow that moo-off was the cringiest shit I've ever seen.
Also hilarious that they dropped the secret pro gimmick. The criteria they are using for this makes no sense at all and changes episodes to episode. Still, a lot of respect to the riders. Everyone in the top 4 looks good. Laura may be consistently slower than flo but I would have been on the plane home after crashing twice in the first run. She turned around to be less than a second behind the next lap

The Pinkbike Podcast: Episode 97 - Can We Predict the Future of Mountain Biking?
Definitely not gonna happen, but it would be cool if they had divisions across different parts of the country so they could have the pnw folks compare notes with the sw, northeast, mw, etc teams and have all areas covered under one review.
Also I'm not a Midwest rider so this is a genuine question, but wouldn't living in an area that is flatter or more undulating also necessitate a more efficient pedaler than what they described in the review? Or are Midwest trails a lot more technical than I'm imagining? I'm in the northeast so something slightly steeper and shorter and a little bit on the active side works great here for twisty and very rocky trails.
