Garmin Announces New InReach Messenger Device & App
@johnthewolf: I think he may be alluding to the situation where you are alone and have a fall/crash/get stuck/whatever and are incapable of reaching for and digging around in your backpack. I definitely keep mine within reach (perhaps that's where the name originated?) Don't know about S&R times in Canada but in NZ they are on par with emergency services (allowing for travel time of course).

Opinion: The Pace of Change in the MTB World is Slowing Down, and I'm All For It
@JSTootell: I'm just rebuilding my '11 Nomad, sure it's a bit harder to find some parts but definitely doable. Such a nimble bike to ride too!

Video: The Story Behind Loic Bruni's New Rust-Painted Demo
They should've made him a steel Demo and left it raw to actually rust. Sick paint job tho!

Mathias Flueckiger to Skip Snowshoe & Mont-Sainte-Anne World Cup Races
So many comments in here showing the wrong attitude. So easy to sink to the lowest common denominator and jump on the hate bandwagon.

Burning Question: Why Have Some Pro Riders Downsized to a 27.5" Rear Wheel?
@Mike-Jay: I don't disagree with you, but on the other hand.. havnt the larger riders (such as Greg Minnar) been saying they never really felt like their bikes "fit" properly until full 29ers came out? So they've been riding at a disadvantage until now? Don't think there's a way to ever really balance it out.

Opinion: Which MTB Innovations Do We Actually Need?
While the science numbers no doubt check out, holding 7kph would only be relevant on fire roads, what about actual trails? I'm still running 11-36 with 30/32t on a couple of bikes and have no issues. Also the 10s cassettes are lighter, last longer shift nicer and are cheaper.

Opinion: Hello, Can I Get An Extra-Medium Frame Please?
It can creek, and it will. There are plenty of reach adjust headsets that won't creek however.
