Park tools produce two crank extractor tools however I'm not quite sure which one I need

If you don't click "reply" under someones comment and type it in that box then they don't get a notification on their wall!
Neither of those will work as they arn't threaded for pullers.
Didn't you get an installation tool with them?
You just take the spacer type thing off of that, screw it in and hammer it.
Can link you to one if you don't already have it!

Oh, that sucks : / erm I know what you mean about taking the spacer of and hammering the bolt but that can strip the bolt and spindle thread really easily especially if the cranks are on tight, I've done that before.. So I'd rather buy the tool and no It didn't come with one! Can you link me one on CRC? thanks and also don't I want a pusher not a puller?

Take off the bolt that holds your crank arm on.
Is there a thread around the inside/outside of the end?

You mean is there thread on the inside of the crank arms, yeahh

 Thought it didn't have any.
The first one is more than likely the correct one, then!
I didn't mean taking the spacer off and hammering the flush bolt, I'm on about the actual installation tool (the thing you used to get the arms onto the spindle).

How did you get the arms on then?

They don't come with I used a rubber mallet to gently tap them on the screw in the bolts and they pulled the arms onto the spindle

Not as good'er value for money as the name suggests, then!
And I'm not 100%, but I'm pretty sure it is.
Ask in the BMX Question thread, perhaps?

I'm pretty sure it's this and I get 10% off so it's all cool Big Grin

Yeah, I was glad that I couldn't order my rim Thursday evening (no monies in my account) as I went to checkout on Friday, saw the 10% discount and though "Eh?... SCORE!" XD

Surly just use a nicely shaped piece of wood and a hammer? lol
  • 1 0
Erm that's a bit of bodge but besides they're 48 splined cranks so there's more teeth engaging which makes it less prone to come losse i suppose besides I've ordered the park tool now Big Grin
