I stopped the video right there and replayed that part 5 times before it kinda made sense in my head how someone could ride away from that, and keep his pace.
I've bombed past that jump on the Matador run in Innerleithen 100+ times and never even noticed the line, has the Matador changed slightly at that area so that we no longer hit the stone launch pad? The guy's a genius, off his head dedicated.... Wish you all the best for this coming season Danny!!
He seem to be such a great bloke apart from being a great rider - I just wish him that such hype won't screw him up, it doesn't have to be his fault because such promotion is never just for the athlete himself. People want to make money on such blokes, the "gods chosen". Then those most cheering fans will be the first to throw shit at him if things will go a bit worse during the course of time - Sam Hill is a great example. Oh he got fat and lazy - such stuff people have been saying. Haters gonna hate? no, dickheads will be dickheads no matter if they are cheering or hating.
Money is not everything in life my friend . . Greeks know that and that's how we survive over the ages.
If you have visited Greece you should know that . . if you not you must come the good islands are here . . lol
Gonna be epic for sure but does anyone else get the feeling that this is the most anyone has ever tried to milk a single win before? I don't mean Danny but the media people around him.
That win was one of the greatest runs ever seen at a world champs. It will be played in decades to come for sure. The scale of it put Danny into superstardom no matter what he does from now on!
Well this is definetly what i was looking for, really good to know he started to ride so long, maybe he really has the experience what he need to achieve his goal, i believe he will make his way up this year. If he will don't get out of the horse (too much of self-confident) and will be normal i will make my vote for him. It was so pleasure to see someone in the heavy rain and mud, who beats the whole professional cyclists by 11 seconds. Good luck for 2012, Danny Hart!
Great title 'Hart and Soul' to see a rider with so much passion and drive, and a fair bit of raw talent! Go on Danny lad, as a fellow Northern boy...smash it!
He seems soft spoken in his interviews kinda like Hill and maybe even Gwin at times then they go and destroy the field. This season is gonna be amazing.
UCI rankings (see link) it has danny hart behind gwin....so that would settle the arguement of who is best in terms of 2011 performances............but at same time not to take any thing away from hart...just look at all the greats that danny smashed over the last season!! a quality achievement from an absolutely sound bloke!!
I remember seeing him when is was little at all the NAMBS races with his dad shouting at him lol, guess it paid off in the end. Hopefully he will stay injury free.
so stoked for danny local lad hittin it big last season, this year there is alot more to come watch this space !! hopfully i'll get out riding with him more this year but unlikely due to the amount of traveling and training he does, the lad is a machine GOOD LUCK FOR 2012 BUDDY
Why is everyone making such a big deal about Danny winning one race when gwin is really the 2011 champion! Gwin won the world cup. Danny won a championship!
Fair comment. I guess it was because of the massive time difference. But then I agree with you that Aaron kinda got over shadowed by all the Hart hype. Then again, Aaron seems like the kinda fella that would be pretty happy to be not getting too much attention ey.
gwin was them most consistent rider and problies doesnt get as much publicity as he should, but smoking the field by 11 seconds when your 19 is impressive. credit where its due
why? because of style. both have speed and substance but i think we all know style will always get you noticed just that bit more..especially at 19. hell, at that level it coulda been anyone world champ that day but hart's run would've still been the one that would've been talked about most because of style. he's like keith moon on a bike. i do dig Aaron's segment alot in 2min Gaps, though.
I think he means a lot to Brits because he is a Brit. He is kind of the underdog, the working class kid from NE England who against the odds became world champion. He is easily one of the most stylish riders on the circuit and is very exciting to watch because he stays on his bike when most other riders would go down. At 19 he is still so young and despite the some people's comments he seems to have no attitude or ego at all, just a great rider and a great kid.
Yeh but have you ever seen a better run? The kids the best rider out there at the moment and bought downhill mountain biking to peoples attention, not because he won but how he rode his bike! Hes young and hungry, more wins guranteed!
a just love storys like this a some great footage .
and his mum and dad well their great people they
must have driven him all over the country to comps.
and i no about that dirving up and down motorways.
the thing is you have to tell your kids whatever sport
they do enjoy your self.
Whye the f*ck ppl act like gays... he looks like that he looks like this.... i dont like his look.... watch how does he ride, not his face lol. For some ppl its time to chnge portal...
www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYy7KHS-lpo , this lad (8 year old) WANTS to be like you. You have been sooooo inspirational to him, good luck for this year see you at FW in Jun. LEGEND!!
This is the North of England lad. No "pretty boys" up ere ! Some might disagree because of the rumor that his genitalia is waxed and free of hair......The truth is, hair doesn't grow on steel !
That's because unlike some people he isn't utterly obsessed by appearance and image. Any awkwardness is probably due to being 19 years old and getting thrust into the limelight on a global scale. He will grow into it and already comes across as really focussed and professional. Seems daft to pass comment on his appearance because it has nothing whatsoever to do with the talent and riding that entertains us so much does it?
Meanwhile all the best Danny!
im backing danny this year hes on my dirt dream team
