Press Release: Adidas Five Ten

Adidas Five Ten and Brad Simms partner to bring a limited edition colourway of the Sleuth DLX flat pedal shoe to market.

In 2018, adidas Five Ten introduced the all-new Sleuth and Sleuth DLX product range, creating the ultimate blend of street style with the unmatched grip of Stealth rubber. The Sleuth range took the iconic adidas Samba silhouette and paired it with a Stealth dotty outsole and in 2023 the range gets updated with a new colourway inspired by Brad Simms.

Brad Simms SLEUTH DLX Colourway

bigquotesThe Sleuth DLX has been my shoe of choice since joining the Five Ten family. It has a casual, skate style which I love but with the added benefits of the famous Stealth sole. It is the perfect shoe for all the different types of riding I do, from BMX to MTB and trials. Now it is even better as it is in my signature colourway.Brad Simms

Brad’s limited edition colourway comes packed with all the features usually found on the Sleuth DLX including a Stealth Phantom Dotty sole, PU leather, and toe box protection, along with an EVA cup midsole. Brad’s design is understated and simple, combining black with metallic gold detailing throughout.

My brain turned LTD to TLD and was like no way those are nice clean black show that can’t be TLD. Then I reread it and was on LTD never mind that makes way more sense.

Bonus: It doubles as a dress shoe.

@gnarlysipes: we'll be seeing a lot of these at weddings.

I think they need to bring back the high/mid top mtb shoe...

 They did

I hate the fact Adidas feel the need to put they name on fivetens, they own Reebok as well but don't feel the need to mark their territory there, what's next, changing the name to Aditens.

To be fair they seem less like "5 10's" and more like Adidas with 5.10 rubber.

With both the 510 and Adidas brands on the shoes, it's the equivalent of those fake Marvel toys, where you even have characters from DC turning up - preview.redd.it/1lhyjsrj0rz91.jpg?width=960&crop=smart&auto=webp&s=487d842d89086ce134ee73833b97f07fe2411d21

I'm surprised they kept the long heel in the back. I love riding 5.10s but I have a pair with this heel profile and it has a tendency to get caught on the rear pegs of a BMX bike. You can even see this in the video above at 31 seconds. Brad Simms is dope though.

Bring back the mid/high Nathan Rennie. That was by far the best 510 I owned, lasted forever and protected my ankles.

Try the Impact Pro Mid. Way lighter and doesnt absorb water. My lows still look new

Brad rips. Anyone riding the Sleuths? My Freeriders are too sticky for the dirtjumper, looking for a little more grip than a skate shoe, just not as much as Freerider.

 Vans 114.

I have freerider pros and sleuths. My freeriders are black sole, and they have so much grip. Maybe too much. The Sleuths are white-soled, and feel quite a bit more slippery. I like 'em both. Just depends on how I'm feeling that day.

These should be a good fit then. I also have the freeriders and the Sleuths and the sleuths have the stealth rubber but are definitely looser. Would note that they are a lot less stiff as well to the point where they're more like casual shoes than riding shoes, so it's something to consider

Matt Jones uses Sleuths all the time.
  • 1 1
I do, grip is good, but not too much. Pedals play a big roll too though.

Maybe Leatt found them a bit in the middle.

@titorips: There's multiple kinds of Stealth Rubber. S1 (the original, always black), Phantom (like S1 but can be coloured and won't leave marks on your floor) and Marathon (less sticky, longer lasting) are what's currently being used (there are others). Each one has different properties. The S1 rubber on an impact is a lot stickier than the Marathon on Free riders and Hellcats..

BMX PRO RIDERS GETTING A SNEAKER IS A HUGE DEAL!!
----
NOT TO TAKE ANYTHING AWAY FROM BRAD!

Seems kinda outta line with his past reason for leaving deals though... the pay must have been really good, or theres a road map for a future model... I hope its the latter. It would have been way doper though if they would have gave him his own silhouette.

ALSO Seems like a Lazy/Shady move on 5.10's part, could sneaky way to maybe pay the athlete less. We've seen it in skate (Chris Cole) and BMX I mean even currently Adidas (owns 5.10) runs the Seeley shoe. Jake Seeley is on Vans and no longer part of the adidas crew.

I look forward on seeing what Brad comes up with. Ever since session' House Park with him and few other pros before he really went off off, and then this ( www.pinkbike.com/video/238675 ) its was clear he was going to get where he wanted to be.

He's been on fire for a min. and he definitely deserves his shine! BIG UPS BRAD!!!

I have these but not his sig version (which look really good). I use for trail, park, and pump/jump. Amazing grip, and I love the lower profile. I like the Freeridere but don’t find any upside to the bulkiness.

125?! Meanwhile the non-signature version is on sale right now for 35 bucks.
  • 2 1
They look great but my Sleuths were the shortest lived riding shoes I've ever had. The soles are paper thin and were trashed in no time.

 Such a deadly rider!!!

The greatest xover in the business! Mtb/BMX. This means business and lots of time on research.
Congratulations!

Too bad their sizing is off. No half sizes above 12 and the 13 is the size of other brands 12’s. I tried 14’s and their too big. Please make 13.5’s! Which would
Be comparable to other brands 13’s!
