Yeah, their backpacks would probably survive a nuclear war, I'm still using one I bought in 2008, the hydrapack is pretty disgusting (the hose is almost black from inside after all these years, I don't even want to know what that black stuff is) so I'll probably replace it but the backpack itself still "works" like new.
@Extremmist: Same experience here. Fox is pretty good stuff overall but their gloves have rarely lasted more than one season for me. I use their stuff more as a backup when it's on sale. I have not had a single Dakine product fail on me ever.
I still regularly ride with 5 year old pair of fox gloves and a fox jersey that is from actually from 2000. I can't speak for the other stuff but their clothes are some of the best.
@FlowMasterO: I've just started using fox forks and there ok.its a little early for them as they're a small artisan company but if they can go mainstream....
Their clothing not only fits great, but it looks great and is super functional. I ended up with 4 pairs of Fox shorts I wear all the time just in case a spontaneous ride shows up.
Every sport industry has apparel to design and make for their specific audience. It's how it works. You don't want to show up with a football jersey, hockey pads, and baseball helmet to ride in. Unless you are, in fact, that "guy".
I show up with the cheapest pair of functional shorts, a t-shirt, the cheapest safe helmet I can get, and knee pads maybe. They're all different brands, and weird colors, and I could care less.
I still don't see any shirts with reinforced elbows...
but those elbow pads are making me re-thing my wardrobe. I have enjoyed the durability of their gloves, helmet, and the ranger shorts. I don't know how many times I have crashed in those shorts. I do think they work well on and off of the bike. They really are my all around go to shorts. It is about time pick up a second pair. Hopefully I can find a 2015 color on clearance somewhere.
Really dig the thought that went into the attack pro system. It would be an expensive purchase but everything from the bib to the jersey looks well thought out and super comfortable
@Voreis: HAHAHA! I love it! You'll CRUSH me, Kirt. No doubt! I like the sense of humor, man. Much respect. We've already ridden together though (at a S event). I remember seeing your back tire for just the first (2) turns.
If there are three things you GOTTA buy Fow, its: 1.) kneepads (dh) , got them for 4 years and still perfect!! 2.) jerseys, awesome quality product 3.) gloves
I wore Fox gloves for many, many years in both MX and MTB variety. The last couple of years I bought the Fox MTB gloves, they ran smaller in size, the stitching starting to fail, and the quality just felt cheap (they looked cool though . I finally gave up on Fox gloves and went with Troy Lee. No complaints so far.
Still love Fox shorts and tech tees though. I have a 7 yr old pair of shorts that are my favorite. They are long enough for knee pads and vented enough for hot XC days. I wish their newer shorts were as good. The last few years have been OK, but just not quite long enough for knee pads.
Most of my "jerseys" are inexpensive athletic wear shirts, but I gotta say, I have a 3/4 sleeve Fox jersey from years ago that is still kicking and is definitely my favorite.
Shorts and Jersey's yes. Helmet nope. Protection... honestly, I've got to get my hands on them before I say yes or know. I like their lightweight gloves.
Not sure why the fox head is so large on this years... everything. You don't need a massive fox head and a massive FOX.
I have given up on FOX MTB gloves too much stitching on the palms = fail .I started using mechanics gloves cheap and single palm piece + last for like ever .
I've got the Launch Enduro knee pads and they're awesome, but realistically they're just a thin layer of foam stitched into a knee warmer. Comfortable, pedal-able, but questionable for full on DH usage. Those or the elbow guards really wouldn't offer much protection in a full on gnarly DH crash I think.
That said, they're the best knee pads I've used for just regular trail/am/enduro/whateveritscalled riding.
To be fair they aren't related at a company level but the founders of each company are brothers. (bike nerd moment of the day, pushes glasses up bridge of nose)
So...EVERY single company from Ford to Bic pens come out with new products every year. How would you propose they make their products aware to consumers, ie you????????? Maybe a launch?!
She said, "Dakine-Dakine-Dakine-Dakine-Dakine-Dakine"
Suspension comes from an entirely different company. Fox Head, and Fox Tail.
Haha, no.
Great quality though...

3.) gloves

Now about that MSRP pricing...
