Ride Your F#%king Bike – The Movie. Powered by Chainsaw, will be the first full-length movie from Fox in over a decade, and it doesn't look to disappoint! The film will feature Josh "Ratboy" Bryceland, Josh "Loosedog" Lewis, Kirt Voreis, Chris Kovarik, Claire Buchar, Connor Fearon, the McCaul's, to name a few. It was shot over three weeks on the road with a wild crew up that was up for anything.
Filming kicked off at Fox Headquarters in Irvine, California and continued north through Oregon and Washington before crossing the Canadian border and reaching Vancouver Island. As the name suggests, the movie is all about good times on your bike with friends.
"Filming the movie was a great experience intended to strip back the sport and get down to the core of riding bikes. It’s all in the title, ‘Ride Your F#%king Bike’ and the hope is that this will inspire people to just have a good time riding." - Mike Redding, MTB Sports Marketing
The movie is dedicated to Stevie Smith, A.K.A. Chainsaw, a World Cup champion gravity athlete who unexpectedly passed away in May 2016.
so much awesome! today's slow-mo 4K spiritual vision quest edits are cool and all, but I miss the fast paced old school skate style videos with good ol' fashioned rock n' roll. can't wait to see this!
First trailer I've watched in a while multiple times over. God bless bringing back a hard and fast soundtrack!! Casualties "Unknown Soldier"! NYC Hardcore at its finest. Can't wait to watch the film!
Why are British riders so damn skilled at like trials maneuvers? Phil Atwill, Ratboy, Loosedog Lewis, just to name a few. I mean sure Aaron Gwin might be the best DHer currently and Ritchie Rude might be the best Enduro rider but in pure talent (or in this case ability to bunnyhop really damn high) I can't think of anyone who could beat these guys.
The difference is that they don't limit themselves to one type of riding. It gives them great all round skills that many other riders don't have. For example when you follow Phil Atwil on FB/insta you'll notice he spends a lot of time riding dirt jumps, skate parks and street. Wouldn't be surprised if he also used to have a trials bike. But that's also how he got his sick style and creative jibs, so it definitely works.
I think it's because most kids here in Britain spend their youth fannying about with their mates jumping off/over/through stuff and we pick up hops, drops and wheelies early on (well some of us do, my wheelies are shite). Also a lot of the british guys will just go and ride as a group, not riding downhill, or xc or pigeonholed activities, just riding with yer mates, cos its a laugh.
@TommiHXH: That's why I feel like I should have been born in the UK instead. That sounds exactly like me and that's so much more fun than buying even tighter lycra so you can hopefully squeeze off another second off your Strava time, like the attitude is over here.
@Mattin: ...not to mention the Joey's that have to go pro everything they do, like it's so epic, just to see how many likes they can get even though they suck! Just like the title says " ride your f*cking bike!" Don't worry about it and have fun!
It looks awesome as shit. Can we have a clean version please? My son would be all over this, but he's only four and I'm already having trouble stopping him saying f*ck.
The f*ck is strong in this one. Let him embrace his inner f*ck. Nurture it. Let it flow through his veins. And as the time comes, present him to the dirt side.
Right with you on that, tried watching my old Earthed DVD's with my 5yo and even they are swear-laden in places (soundtrack mostly). More 'airplane' versions for us rad-dads!
Lots of people talked down on Ratboy for stepping down from the WC series, but seeing shit like this is so much better in my opinion. I'm glad he's taken a step away and is clearly having a blast. Right on.
The rest? Well I'll just say I'll be buying this DVD for sure.
I don't think it is quite the case that people were talking Ratboy down. I think it was more that people liked the fun and style he brought to WC DH racing and were afraid they wouldn't see that anymore now that he left. This makes for a proper replacement though. That said, Harry Molloy left his WC team for similar reasons and took a different path (set up his own team) so I wouldn't be surprised Josh eventually does something like that too. But for now, I agree it is great as it is and I doubt anyone would prefer him to ride WC instead of doing stuff like this.
Thats because his reasoning for stepping down was clearly BS. All that talk about DH not being green but now he still does just as much travelling now. Pure BS.
Personally I dont understand why he is still sponsored. He certainly makes me want to avoid buying those brands
@chrismac70: Sorry he offended you with his life choices (which effected no one but himself.) I have a hard time believing that you were on the fence about a SC and that was your deciding factor. If it was you're an idiot.
@chrismac70: The only thing I heard about his decision came from his interview on his boat, which didn't seem to be about the color of DH racing. More that he simply didn't quite like the races. The green thing came from Claudio, I didn't hear him confirm that. Did you somewhere? If so, I'm interested in your source.
@russthedog: Sorry, I was too quick with my doubts . I do respect your opinion.
@chrismac70: He's been racing since he was 10. Won 2 junior world championships, 2 junior British National Mountain Biking Championships, then went on to become 2014 UCI World Cup Champion, and British National Mountain Biking Champion. What exactly have you accomplished to be able to judge his riding decisions?
After watching this at breakfast I manualled the whole way to work, even up the hills. Seriously though this is the stuff that gets me stoked to go ride my bike. It's so much more fun spending the day riding/messing about with you're mate than it is trying to beat PB's
This trailer filled with so much stoke last night when I saw it that I rode up the local mountain, fell off, fell off some more and came home stoked! \../
Serious crew. Excited to watch this. This maybe a good reminder that mountain biking at it's core is really about good vibes, good times, and good friends.
Mountain biking isn't green enough for me. I'll spend weeks on the road travelling in non-green vehicles to somehow back that claim up. After travelling to the start point in a big airplane too of course. Then home in one as well just for good measure.
The film will be available for live streaming on FoxRacing.com beginning Wednesday, April 5th, 2017.
