The London Bike Show will play host to some of the world’s best Dirt Jumpers, as they battle it out in the Air to the Throne competition, which is the opening round of the FMB World Tour. Thirty of the world’s best riders will take part in the two-day international invitational, as they compete for a share of the €10,000 prize pot.

The Air to the Throne competition, which is sponsored by Visit Wales, will take place on a progressive AT3 course on 13th and 14th February, with riders using its gigantic and unique features to hone their skills and wow the watching crowds. Demos will take place thought the show on Thursday 11th and Friday 12th, with the contest to be crowned Air to the Throne champion taking place over the weekend.

A stellar line up is headed up by 2015 FMB World Champion Thomas Genon. Belgian Genon was crowned the worlds best in October at the Red Bull Rampage competition after an impressive season. American Nicholi Rogatkin, who finished third behind Genon in the World Championships, has also confirmed that he will be competing at the London event.

Home fans will have plenty to cheer with Brits Sam Pilgrim and Matt Jones hoping for some partisan support. Pilgrim has been a stalwart of the sport since bursting on to the scene in 2007. Since then he has been at the top of the sport, showcasing his incredible talent. Fellow Brit Matt Jones, who fist made a splash on the international scene at the tender age of 18, joins him. Now 21, Jones can boast wins in invitational events all over the world, and placed 3rd in the X-Games Red Bull Phenom last year.

Some of the world’s leading manufacturers will be on hand to show their 2016 bikes, including Specialized, GT and Cannondale.

The competition itself will take place over two days on the 13th and 14th, but those visiting on the Thursday and Friday should not despair, as demos and practice runs will provide a spectacular sight on both days. The demo rides will include runs from BMX riders Ryan Taylor and Scott Hamlin. And all of the action will be accompanied by a soundtrack, provided by Kirsty Harper of Radio Shoreditch.
