Field Test: 2021 Specialized Epic - The Lightest & Slackest
I'd think the efficiency test will give the most "controlled" numbers for a bike-to-bike comparison. All of these bikes are going to be fantastic race bikes, if that's your thing. I'd put more stock in the impressions of the bike to help make a buying decision, and less in the lap times. I'm really enjoying the series so far, and I'm really looking forward to the impressions of the more trail-focused offerings vs. the full-on racers.

Field Test: 2020 Canyon Lux - A Very Fast Baseline
I'm sure they're used to the geo and have the skills to exploit it to the fullest, and I'd be surprised if they don't have access to custom shock tunes to improve the traction (should they need it). Given that they're both exceptional CX racers, they'll be well-versed in handling sharper bikes.

Raleigh Willard Two Gravel Bike 58cm

$750 CAD
Your partner in social distancing! My pal Willard is currently set-up 1x11 using a Wolf Tooth Roadlink, Wolf Tooth narrow-wide ring, and a Shimano XT 11-40 cassette. You're welcome to the lightly used original rings and front derailleur. Bike currently wears Continental Cross King 700x35c tires with minimal wear, and a nice Salsa Cowbell Deluxe bar (44cm width). This is a pretty nice and versatile bike if you want to ride some gravel, commute, road ride, dabble in cyclocross, etc. You can see the original specs here:

Opinion: Ode to an Oddball - Rediscovering Two-Wheeled Fun
Spent most of the winter on a rigid Salsa El Mariachi. Had a ball. It gets a little hairy when things are steep and rough with the high post and steep HA, but I (usually) made it through. Makes my suspended hard tail feel like a couch now.
