Akrigg on the Rocks: Mix one part MTB Trials legend with equal parts rolling geological formations for the perfect blend of style and creativity. Akrigg on the Rocks always goes down smooth. Enjoy!
For my money - he's one of the most entertaining riders.....I've always loved trials, but his style of rolling trials vs stop and go trails is so flippin' cool, old school meets new school. He has the really quick setups and transition from move to move like Libor (if anybody remembers him from the 90's), smooth and flowing....
Yep, totally agree. Although Macaskill might be more creative in the trialsy stuff, Akriggs videos somehow dont even feel trialsy, but just normal riding tech stuff with max control and goofing around on the way.. like em!
Awesome - as always! And a perfect example that it's never the bike but the rider! Or maybe Chris is just not yet aware of the Cons attributed to the 2022 GT Force Carbon in the 2021 Summer Field Test, one of which read "It doesn't shine on slower, jankier trails" ;-) www.pinkbike.com/news/field-test-2022-gt-force-carbon.html
The one thing I don't like about Chris is he makes it look so easy I think I can do it. Then I try a Chris style trick and quickly realise I cannot do it. Great video though.
Watch some of his behind the scenes stuff, there's a good bit of rage filled bike tossing! (literally thrown, not crashed) It looks great in the edit largely because of his determination. Watching him spend hours relentlessly focused on one section makes me feel a bit better about my riding.
Well he does have both but I would pick this skillset...imagine what terrain would look like through that lens. Pretty much anything is possible! Unreal riding as usual.
@tacklingdummy: Don't think twice about it. It's a seriously great place to ride, with a lot of variety, even though the majority is rough natural trails here, not manicured flow trails. The guys at Black Town Trails are experienced guides and top level riders too, so if you can ride it they can take you there. Couldn't recommend them enough.
The location it's Valdemanco, a small village in the north/east side of the mountains ridge around Madrid. Just 45' away from Madrid's downtown... The location it's unreal. The area it's flooded of impressive trails. We had a lot of fun guiding Chris in this filming!
Sick vid from Akrigg as always! Would love to see a bike check of his bike. And also, how much does that thing weight? Looks to me like a 14-15kg bike but the way he flicks it around so easely has me second guessing it.
Chris is rad!
@sarahmoore this needs to be a must watch!
it's Akrigg. the Gandalf of Bike wizardry
Pick one.

Me (if I was Chris): "Psshh, I only need 6!"
