Newly named GT Bicycles Wingman Tom Isted is the type of rider that puts it all out there in the air, and he knows that you don't need a DH bike to send the big stuff. So, press play and engage full send mode to see why Tom is the newest member of the GT Wing Project family.
| I started riding BMX from 10 and was competing from the age of 18. After watching my first FMB contest in person at FISE Montpellier I thought to myself ‘that looks like fun’. As ramps in BMX haven’t really changed for 10 years, I felt like it was time for a change. The idea of riding bigger course really appealed to me and two years later, here we are. [This edit] was filmed at Woody’s bike park in Cornwall mainly to just show that you don’t need a DH bike to ride big stuff, 100mm is plenty!—Tom Isted |
Welcome to the Wing Project, Tom!
MENTIONS: @GTBicycles
I'll await the 14 day tour of the Alps 'big stuff' including national DH tracks on the same 100mm rig?
Seriously though, decent shredit....!
.....Wait.
I've got no issue with the edit or the riding, it was just a bit of a silly statement to tack on the end of it. I'm sure every WC downhill team are now sat round a table like, "Oh sh1t son! How did we never realise big stuff didn't require 200mm+. Best rethink our strategy!!"
But I think that everybody should ride what they like to ride. In some case a trail bike will be enought to have fun, and sometimes a DH bike would suit better.
In his case, a DH bike isn't clearly needed, but some people would use a DH bike to have more confidence
This is either missing punctuation or words. "It's not often when you see someone throw....." or "It's not often we, you, or someone throws a casual decade...".
I'm so bad at English, and usually in rush too.
I hope this is a 26" distortion v2 that the public can buy. I loved my old distortion.
