It's finally here!

Just got my bike......and she's a beauty!

I didn't appreciate USP screwing with my mind. It was shipped on Monday, the 11th of Feb., and it was originally supposed to arrive on the 14th.

With a bit of weather, they pushed that to the 15th. No prob. I'm cool with that.

On thursday, the 14th, however, they went around and told me that it'll show up the next week! WTF!?!?

Anyway, I don't want to get into dramatics. It ended up showing up on the 15th, so that was cool. Real early too. However, the guy dropping it off almost literally "dropped" it off, right at the end of my driveway! Didn't ask for a signature or anything! Good thing I live in the country, 'cause if this were Toronto, it would've been gone in minutes!!!

So I drag the surprisingly light-weight box into my house and gleam at it. "Where's the knife!?" I as myself. After grabbing one, I sliced up the tape and opening my late Christmas present to myself. Tonnes of paper came out (which the cats had a field day with) and then I could pull my bike out.

Mmm, Mmmmm! She is sweet. Get the handle bars on, the wheels on, and the tires pumped up, and I'm ripping her up down the road! My first biggest impression: This bike is GOD DAMN HUGE!!! Holy crap! I didn't think they built them that big! I guess it's because of the larger tires, more than anything. No matter. This bike fit me so well, unlike all other bikes I've ridden that were too small for me.

The other biggest thing I noticed was how smooth this bike was! It rolled over everything, and I didn't even feel a single bump! Mind you, I was riding on snow, so there wasn't exactly a lot of bumps to ride over. Razz

Speaking of riding on snow: My front tire tried to wash itself out over the loose snow, ruts, and ice, but it just grabbed more traction and kept on truckin'. I didn't even have to worry about where I was putting it! I just pointed and it went. I would never have been able to ride like this on my Yukon!

Anyway. That was it for the excitement. It's not upside-down on my bedroom floor, and the wheels are in the shop for truing. I don't know if I really need to rebuild it, 'cause everything runs so smoothly. I'll probably do some work on it, but leave most of it alone for later, when I have more money.

The 24th is the beginning of my season. Going for a good 35 min ride to start it off. No hitting the dirt though. I don't want to ruin any trails due to them being so muddy at this time of year.
