Behind the Numbers: Specialized Stumpjumper EVO 29 Suspension Analysis
Own the alloy 29 evo for a few months now and really enjoy it. I ride it back to back on the same trails as my demo and holy cow does it carry speed but the second I point it into a burly rock garden I hesitate quite a bit and pick the smoother but slower line to avoid blowing up wheels . This bike is incredibly confident at high speeds and even rough trails but lacks the forgiveness due to the linear suspension and shorter travel but the evo bottoms out like a champ and has never bucked or thrown me off when it does bottom out. I'm from Tahoe and for the local steep but smoother trails I can't think of a better rig. If you love the confidence of a dh bike but don't need the travel the evo is for you

Really enjoy the video, too bad Wally is a massive douche that will add you in a group chat with 6 of his buddies just to have some circle jerk of roasting and then come to your home trails and tell you to go fuck yourself. Santa Cruz is a cool place with a jaded local crowd. Wally youre a dick. Throw rocks at other peoples bikes and throw a hissy fit cause people rode a trail that you put a berm in and claim you built the whole thing. Sincerely the desert monkeys of Nevada

Video: Mike vs Mike: Geometry Battle - Specialized Stumpjumper vs EVO
Just raced my alloy evo at sea otter, I own a demo 8 and am primarily a dh rider. Throwing a leg over this bike feels like home and the bike fucking rips. Carries speed like a freight train and can pop up and fly with a little pull. I'm thoroughly in love with this thing especially the price and spec.

Opinion: Carbon and Aluminum Wheels - Does Stiffer Always Mean Better?
Please do the same test on your evo! Just bought a set of we are one agents on pro4 hubs. Have to get rid of those soft rovals. What really draws me to the carbon is the lifetime warranty and in my experience with we are one they are significantly more durable than alu wheels. I'll have to test the traction theory out for myself though
