Tom Pidcock Won Olympics on What Looks Like Electronic Prototype Suspension from SR Suntour
4 cables/hoses.
2 brakes, one shifter, one dropper.
In the pics it looks like he's not using a dropper because on the 4-Stroke the dropper is integrated into the frame, so looks like a fixed seatpost.

@seraph: Maybe they feel the bike makes more difference in DH than in XC.
Would Pidcock be competitive on a £4k XC bike? probably yes.
Would a top DH rider be competitive on a £4k DH bike? Maybe not so much.
(not saying they're right, just maybe that's the logic)

Ryder Hesjedal said this years and years ago, that road was where the money was, not possible to make a good living as an XC rider, even a Canadian one.
Hopefully Pidcock loves XC enough that he will continue throughout his (road) career.
